Yeah, I realized that when I read the article. It does seem that this new collection is at least partly based on the things she's been seen wearing more so than the last one, like a "now you can have this piece from Alexa's closet!" kind of thing.

Exclusive Video: Alexa Chung Wears Her New Madewell Collection

You can see over a dozen pieces from Alexa Chung's second Madewell collection in this new video, which was filmed in tandem with the road trip-inspired ads shot in Austin, Texas. Like Chung's first collection (which was a great success, sales-wise), there's a ladylike, buttoned-up look to the clothes, especially a few silky collared shirts in delicate pinstripes and polka dots. There's also a continuation of Chung's signature shape: an emphasis on the legs with high-waisted short-shorts, thigh-skimming dresses, and slim-cut cigarette pants in a vintage-y floral pattern, balanced out with a looser top like a chunky knit sweater. Other highlights: a hunter green plaid cape, a cute red beanie hat, and playful zippered clutch printed with eyes.


The collection will be available in stores and online on September 22.

Found the video quite charming as well, loved the shot of the old Volvo down the gravel road, "the ideal barber shop", and her watching the gumball whirl around. The clothes, so-so. Some good pieces, but I'm not as enamored by them as I am by Alexa's loveliness.

i don't think it's the same top but definitely looks "inspired"..i'm interested in seeing better images of the lace dress but nothing else from the collection really looks nice to me so far honestly :/

i looove her sunglasses in the outfit with the blue dress but other than that i think she looks kinda ridiculous; not flattering at all imo!

Yes, it's definitely Alexa-ish and she does look cute ... but I'm just not too crazy about the bottom of the dress, it flares out tooo big or something? And nay to those saltwater sandals with it.

she has been tweeting pictures of her clothes taken with her to australia! got some interesting pieces, most we will have seen before.

new pictures too have emerged of her wearing a dark floral blouse underneath a large, 60s-esque denim jumpsuit with her hair pinned back, with granny clogs and her dark suede bag. lllaaaveeelllyyyy....

Not sure if I am digging the overalls, but a valid effort by her to try something new and fun. I do like the daisy blouse she's wearing underneath the denim. The plaid schoolgirl skirts she packed are worrying me
