Alexa Chung

^IKR. I never thought there was such a thing as too long legs.

Chanelove, I think it'is Burberry.

just concern really.
been a fan of this post for ages. Adore adore alexa and her style its fab, total inspiration. just had my hair cut like Alexa's circa last year (bob, little fringe to the side, i love it!) but that photo just worried me a little :(

praying that he won (last shadow puppets)
Alex is way too nonchalant to pray for a music award! Also, Alexa had the same pose in a party picture with Henry Holland in UK Harper's Bazaar Dec. '09.

There are a few Alexa quotes in this US Harper's Bazaar article:
HOW TO DRESS FOR THE SPOTLIGHT: THE DRESS THAT GETS RESULTS
Take a cue from Hollywood's best-dressed celebs on how to get the right type of attention when you go out for the night.

By DEREK BLASBERG

MTV hostess and recent London expat Alexa Chung, an aficionado of darker duds, made a foray into color with a short red Calvin Klein Collection dress she wore to host the opening of the label's shop at Saks Fifth Avenue. The result? An affirmation that you can blend bright Americana with hip East London. "Recently, I've been dabbling with crimson, but I'll never be coerced into yellow!" says Chung, laughing.
......
To the sexy debate, Chung adds, "'Body con' is something I've been more into lately. A smock dress basically makes you invisible. Even if other girls admire your commitment to not giving a sh*t what boys think of you, after a while it's nice to be noticed."
......
"The dress that gets results is the one that suits your shape the best," says Chung. "That advice has been around since forever, but I really think people are beginning to take it to heart now."

I looked for the boots to see if they are by Mulberry or Burberry and I don't seem to see them. Thanks

+ Jeans: White Suede
+ T-shirt: Two Nine One
+ Shoes: Dries Van Noten

Can't believe she's out of skinny jeans! For me skinny jeans are the only kind I'll wear, I've never liked baggy/bootcut/wideleg jeans. For once I'm not a fan of the outfit.

I've been waiting for so long to see how she dresses in late autumn/winter/early spring when the weather is really cold. But she just shows summer style outfits in which I would freeze to death while waiting for the bus in Lithuania.

haha, same! I was thought ' whatever, Alexa will help me this winter ' but nooo...
I don't know how the weather is in NY right now, but if she were in London, we would've been spoiled!

^^ yeah but I think they were pale blue.
I like these jeans on her but I would hate them on me. Skinny jeans forever! :)

Saoirse Ronan starts to look mighty good!

Holiday Gift Guide: Pretty Young Thing

At Who What Wear headquarters, we spend a great deal of time scouting and spotlighting the most fashionable fresh faces. These noteworthy young ladies (affectionately known as Pretty Young Things, or PYTs, around the office) never fail to inspire us with their nonchalant coolness and brilliant taste in clothes. When broken down into parts, PYT style sounds very contrary—it's on-trend and individualistic, subtle and sexy, androgynous and feminine—but they always make it work. Just look at Alexa Chung: she's the poster girl for the PYT set, thanks to her tomboyish tendencies and affinity for quirky accessories! Working off the hunch that you might have a pal who shares Chung's sartorial spirit and need to find the perfect gifts for her, we rounded up a batch of the best PYT-inspired stuff for your shopping pleasure. Read on for every fashion-forward delight, from splurge-worthy sunglasses to a seriously sharp pair of shoes!

Elizabeth and James Feather Double Ring ($425)
When it comes to jewelry, the PYT is always on the lookout for something unique and extraordinary, like this double-finger feather ring designed by Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James. It's certainly a statement piece, but despite its boldness, the ring still has a delicate appearance and almost vintage vibe. We adore the fancy version with diamonds, sterling silver, and yellow gold (shown above), but it's also available in a simpler style—check out the Feather Across the Hand Ring ($150)—which is awesome too.

The Sartorialist ($17) by Scott Schuman
Whether she's the sort of girl who regularly makes the pages of photographer Scott Schuman's street style blog, The Sartorialist, or simply aspires to be a subject, your PYT will flip for this stunning anthology of Schuman's work. This comprehensive collection is a must-buy for all fashion fanatics and is sure to supply any reader with loads of inspiration.

Benjamin Douglas Blonde Tortoise Deluxe ($475)
Like all super stylish chicks, the PYT tends to favor a mix of thrifty thrills and upscale splurges. One accessory she definitely invests in is an amazing pair of sunglasses, hence our inclusion of the latest style from eyewear king, Benjamin. The purveyor of stylish sunnies recently outdid himself with the Douglas frames, which are shown here with a clip-on, a detail that adds so much personality and charm. These handmade sunglasses are also available in matte black, matte tortoise, and matte crystal, but we think the blonde tortoise is the best of them all!

Evil Twin Cop an Eyeful Skirt ($74)
While the PYT rarely opts for a full-blown body-con outfit, she will work a snug piece or two into her ensembles from time to time. Bearing this in mind—and the PYT's proclivity for heavy-metal accents—we think she'd love this sleek skirt by Australian cult label, Evil Twin. The grommet details on the front panel give it a little toughness, while the ultra-affordable price is oh-so sweet.

Urban Outfitters Suede Oxfords ($48) in Teal
One of the things we adore most about the PYTs in our lives is the way they always find (and wear) the best unexpected items. Case in point: who but the PYT would be able to pull off a killer pair of blue suede shoes? These teal lace-ups from Urban Outfitters are on-trend but a little unusual, making them an excellent gift option for the PTY. Plus, they're so reasonably priced, you can pick up a pair in black too!

Maybelline Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner ($6) in Blackest Black
One of the hallmarks of a true PYT is her mastery of that eternally cool beauty trend: the cat-eye. Sometimes it's thick and bold, other times it's ultra-winged, occasionally it's fine and flirty, but whatever way she wants to wear it, Maybelline's newest liquid eyeliner will help the PYT achieve her perfect look. The long-wear formula doesn't smudge (we tested!) and the application-friendly felt tip is perfect for amateurs and pros alike.

Alexander Wang Striped Tee ($120)
One of the key designers in any PYT's wardrobe is a fellow downtown darling: Alexander Wang. Needless to say, when we saw Wang's decidedly darling take on the traditional Breton-stripe style top (a wardrobe necessity in general, and a Chung favorite specifically), we couldn't help but include it in today's story. This navy and white linen-blend shirt is semi-sheer and slightly oversized, making it the perfect understated option for our girl du jour.
