Alexa Chung

Oooh wondered where the thread had got to, not really feeling the latest outfits.

I would LOVE that outfit if the dress was a mini. Remember that article she was in in Vogue where they made her wear a long skirt? It seems that since then she actually has been trying the look a lot more.
I've just realised how hard it must be to be Alexa, imagine all the pressure to look amazing all the time, I do not envy her that, even though her wardrobe is amazing.

it's interesting to me that so many "it girls" and "fashion icons" have quite a few awful outfits and also some really cool stunners. its because (stating the obvious) shes taking risks and seeing how far she can go with her own style and still please the public. as much as a celebrity hates it (or loves it), fame is dictated largely by how much the public responds to her. i personally have hated few of the outfits that nobody liked on here, but i also know its largely because she can pull the styles off. on anyone else, i'd probably be making the gag face as well.

on the other hand, though, i think there were probably five or ten girls tied for first place (zoe saldana, diane kruger, marion cotillard, etc) but alexa did deserve recognition years ago

Style Awards: 2009

Awards season may still be around the corner, but we've had our eyes on the prize all year. You see, though a grade-A ensemble may seem like less of a production than a film, we know that a blockbuster outfit is truly an achievement. So for this year's best-dressed round-up we wanted to give credit where credit is due and single out the most stellar sartorial performances of 2009. All twelve of these well-dressed winners have played roles in making this year memorable, so we wanted to pay tribute to their particular clothing contributions in our inaugural edition of Who What Wear's Style Awards. So without further delay, the envelopes please…

When Alexa Chung landed on American soil she started a serious sartorial revolution. The former-It's On host's tomboy-meets-It-girl clothing (who else can pull off chic shorts and a button-up and J.Crew leopard belt with such panache?) was as compelling to witness as her witty interview banter. Whether the it-Brit was wearing a vintage leopard coat, her signature striped tees, or just toting her namesake Mulberry handbag, 2009 really served to ramp up Chung-mania!

The outfit Leighton Meester's wearing looks so similar to Alexa's at that Burberry Party a while ago... is that the point of the picture? I don't get it. :/
