I bought this today. There's a full page picture of Alexa in the Luella prom dress and a quote from Peaches Geldof

Alexa is the enigmatic rock chick of our time. I like that she can just put on an oversized Kurt Cobain-style flannel shirt, team it with tights and boots and look really hot.

Here's a video from The Wall with Alexa and Lil' Chris

The Guardian did a review of British TV presenters that made me laugh. Alexa actually came out of it better than most.

Also, Alexa is number 63 in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World list, up one place from last year.

It's PPQ!

can anyone ID this dress alexa is wearing on vanity lair?? xo
TIA[/quote]

umm, peaches geldof? "just putting on an oversized Kurt Cobain-style flannel shirt, teaming it with tights and boots and looking really hot." hardly makes Chung "the enigmatic rock chick of our time".

didn't Mary Kate do this in 2006?

and anyway, surely someone with such a title would come up with a style of their own rather than recycling grunge for the Xth time.

It's Peaches Geldof - don't bother trying to rationalise anything she says

Haha, I thought that taking the mic article was really funny, i love brit humour. The fact that I could actually read the small-small print makes me have faith in my sight all over again...

There's an article in today's Guardian about heels v flats.

But there are signs that a quiet backlash is beginning. Celebrities who don't want to be associated with a limo lifestyle have turned their back on heels. Indie poster girl Alexa Chung favours Chanel two-tone pumps, and has been seen recently sporting Russell & Bromley schoolgirl loafers. It is a shoe that demands a gamine leg and a well-turned ankle, and as Chung no doubt knows, it is far harder to pull off than no-brainer 7in heels.

Russell & Bromley are quietly chuffed with the success of their Chester loafer, as it is known. "We've had that style for 25 years and it used to be a bit of a mum's shoe, but recently it has become one of our best sellers, and younger customers are buying it," explains a spokeswoman.

On the high street, which is gearing up for the annual battle of the surprising summer must-have, several flat shoe styles are already in the running. Moccasin shoes are in contention again; this time not boots but slip-ons that are not too dissimilar to Chung's loafers.

The point of that article seems a little silly since Alexa is wears heeled ankle boots or those Dries heels in particular at least as, if not more frequently as she wear flats.

Alexa does wear heels a lot, but I get the writer's point - celebrities like Alexa or Lily Allen don't see a problem in wearing flats to red carpet events, whereas people like Victoria Beckham or Sarah Harding would.
