Oh my goodness, I just bought the Betty polka dot tea dress in vanilla cream! It's the one thing I really wanted and ended up being a little more than I was expecting ($188...I was hoping for more like $128) but what the heck. I've been lusting after it for a while, just can't buy anything else for a bit!

Her collection for Madewell is lovely but everything's so...simple. You could probably go out to a charity shop and find almost exactly the same things and not have to pay a ridiculous price, aha.

I've been obsessed with the black velvet Tennessee dress too... but the PRICE! I just don't know if I can justify it! And yeah, can anyone help with Madewell's sizing? I'm a British 8-10 (US 4-6) and never sure whether to go for the bigger or smaller size!

There are some nice things in that collection, but I agree you could find them in a few places. The pricetag (then converted in Australian Dollars) is so ridiculous

I wanted the black & gray sweater pictured here SO BADLY, and it's nowhere to be found! The blouses with the pockets on the front aren't there, either, and neither are the French marine stripe tops they showed. WTF?!
man, I am really disappointed right now. There's barely anything there! Where are all the other pieces they showed us? Are they going to sell some pieces in-store only or something?

I think they intermixed a lot of her collection with regular Madewell pieces...I would keep checking back on the Madewell site. The other pieces will probably show up this fall.
I also want to add that the prices are also turning me off quite a bit, but I do appreciate that they appear to be made of high quality materials. A lot of things made of wool, cashmere, silk...no polyester that I saw. I guess my advice would be only get your absolute must-haves!

i totally agree. i think they look lovely, except alexa's shoes. god, sorry. i just can't. it looks alright on it's own but not with the dress.

Alexa once said that she hates it when there are overpriced clothes that she cannot afford, so why is it that her own collection is actually NOT at 'afforadble'' prices to most people?..
The Betty tea dress and Tennessee dress are among the best in the collection. Congrats, peeps! I hope you'll report back when you get your items.
I seriously eyed them last night, but I can't bring myself to pay that much for stuff that could be found in a thrift store. Of course, they never are in thrift stores, so I'm not faulting anyone who did! I'm planning to take a look when the collection hits the local store.
