This post probably has nothing to do with Alexa and everything abot how I'm feeling at the moment (stranded away from family at a difficult Xmas time). But she likes fake/ she doesn't like fake. She digs plaid/leopard print / she doesn't....which is it?

There's always a gap between what Alexa says and what she does, like when she claims she dresses like a tomboy seriously, she's wearing cutesy skirts/dresses most of the time, a lot of peter pan collars, florals, bows, lace, etc which either makes her look like a little girl or a grand-ma but definitely not like a tomboy..Don't get me wrong I like her and her style but sometimes she's slightly inconsistent..

I feel like she has to take so much flak at the moment. While everything she said and wore was über-cool last year she can do no right this year. I do agree that many of her outfits were a bit odd this year, however I don't think her style has changed drastically or anything. She's always had her own style which happened to be(come) very trendy last year and is a bit out of fashion now. I think the only reason so many of us have gotten tired of it is because we've seen a gazillion bloggers copying the Chung-style and it's nothing fresh and new anymore. That doesn't mean Alexa doesn't wear the things she wears very well. She really rocks all those Chanel, Proenza and Kane outfits, IMO, and looks flawless most of the time. I can see her fading because her style doesn't evolve enough but I don't really care because it's just as nice to see a hipster/IT-girl/whatev staying true to herself instead of desperately trying to stay trendy all the time because they don't have anything else to offer other than being stylish. I'd like to think Alexa is smarter and more talented than that.

BTW, when will that vintage-shopping TV programme of hers premiere?

It's called being human. People aren't one thing all the time. I'm actually confused as to how you and others say they are bored with her style but then also berate her for her style being "inconsistent". She has always said that her style is a mix between "tomboy and little girl/grandma" - she has tomboy days and she has girly days, and she often combines tomboy looks with more classically girly looks. Also, keep in mind that the kinds of things she wears to events - the baby doll-esque Chanel dresses and so-on - are not as true a representation of her personal style as her every-day wear. People mostly seem to have issues with her red carpet style when those are mostly dresses and outfits that are given to her by designers to help promote their latest collections.

^I actually think her style is pretty consistant (I can see where others are bored, but personally I don't mind it). she's more inconsistant about what she says she likes or is. she says she's a tomboy but has always dressed girly. she hates fur but wears leather. she hates fake but wears lashes. etc, etc
I think 2010 was pretty poor for her style-wise but she still has the girly/classic/quirk-thing down pat.

^^^^I didn't say her style is inconsistent (quite the opposite actually), but that her statements are, it is surely human, but it is also human to comment, to deride and give one's opinion, and not worship blindly everything she says and wears . I said I like her style, otherwise I wouldn't come to this thread and waste my time.

Her personal style is perfection! The problem for me is that some of the red-carpet looks turn her into a human clotheshanger and swamp her. There have been rather a few Valentino/Louis Vuitton/Chanel horrors this year!
