Alexa Chung

Fashion is subjective and is about opinions. Just because people happen to be die hard fans of a certain person, being defensive and rude when someone posts a comment with a different opinion is just unneccessary really.

There is nothing defensive or rude about pointing out the fact that speculating about whether she wore this or that dress to "maintain her street cred", or whatever other dimwitted comments people have been making here, is totally pointless and contributes nothing to the thread! The problem I have with it is that it is not even about peoples' opinion; they are just making up reasons as to why she might have done something, which is just pointless as it's totally made up in their head with no basis in reality and has no relevance to Alexa or her style.

Superga and Alexa?

The smell of desperation is in the air...

She better be well-paid for this!

Well you do sound pretty defensive and rude when you call others' comments "dimwitted." As far as I'm concerned, Alexa has put herself out there as a so-called style icon/It girl (see recent NY Times profile, among others) and deserves both the lauding and critique that comes along with that. And actually, looking critically at her style choices does have relevance to both Alexa and, um, her style.

You have to admit, it's hard not to question the motives of someone who turns up at the Golden Globes red carpet after saying this to the NY Times:
“I mean I can do it,” she said returning to herself, “but that poise, that A-list Hollywood glamour thing is ugh. It makes me sick.”

Agree. I dont reali see anything desperate in this. Superba is reali an iconic breand and alesa arena the perfect chiude to' refresh their image!

I'm actually really excited for the Superga campaign. I've always wanted a pair and I can't wait to see how they style them on her. Hopefully I'll get inspired to take the plunge!

plus, alex turner has been wearing superga sneakers since at least 2006...!

but I'm still not sold on her GG dress, I suppose since she was just a reporter it was a good subtle choice, but, hmm...

sometimes she dressy to "old lady-ish" its not fashionable on the red carpet. paris, yes. red carpet, no. either way i love her style

^Wow, she looks radiant. I would hate that dress on anyone else but it looks gorgeous on Alexa. The hair looks nice, too. Is it darker or does it just seem that way because you can't see the two-tone thing?

I do hope the two tone is really gone. It got boring after a while and I think it didn't suit her all that well anyway.
