However, the fact also stands that people had already been intrigued and caught onto her style before Alex, as is proof of her first thread on The Fashion Spot which predates their relationship.

Certainly in a world of Kardashian and VS model clones Alexa Chung stands out and has her own look/style; I've criticized the shorter hair but it really is what her whole look is all about. She's so eurochic trendy.

I think I'm the only one, but I REALLY like her hair short. I think it suits her hair type. Right now, I think she needs to cut another inch or so off.

I love her hair short too! Just not in this sort of triangular parted in the middle, one tone bland way. It makes her look more haggard and plain. I reeeally miss her two tone hair on her shoulders/an inch off. Lovely!

Hehe you are the perfect example that Arctic Monkeys and Alex Turner aren't known by everyone in the world! I'm sorry, if Alexa had been dating Alex but with a boring fashion sense, no tv show etc etc the world would've not really known her - like Johanna Bennett. Yes, every tabloid says Alexa Chung - girlfriend of Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner - blah blah, but they choose to put that in. It's not the first thing people say when they hear Alexa Chung 'oh yes, Alex Turner's girlfriend'. Plus, who is more famous? Alexa, I think. So really that wouldn't make sense.

Yeah indeed^^. I also learned Alex Turner from Alexa!! And I do believe that it's her style which made her become more popular to the public and not her relationship with Alex.

Um...well if you look at the very first thread over Alexa the "real" first articles that came out about her had no mention of Alex at all, and that's obviously of course because they didn't meet yet. So I don't exactly see how you can say that her first articles mention him. Sorry, I just don't see your argument as fair.

Yes, Alex is always mentioned in Alexa's interviews (sometimes by her own admission and sometimes indubitably by the magazine) ,and he certainly did get mentioned a lot when she got significantly noticed as a "style icon" or "it girl," but honestly I see this all the time in magazine interviews. Practically anyone who is at all famous, always gets their significant other mentioned whether they like it or not. Keira Knightley, Emma Watson, even a model like Abby Kershaw. I could easily make a book out of all of the times I've seen, "so and so is dating so and so," mentioned in magazines where the content was suppose to be more so about their work-life as opposed to their personal life.
