There is nothing modern about it lol , except improved fabrics maybe, it is literal , you can use all these colorful words but bottom line I have seen very similar looks when I would go to Danceteria and other night clubs especially around 84-85 , and the fashion then had a very strong sporty element.
Wang is not a designer just a very good stylist.

we'll have to agree to disagree. the looks in the eighties did not come pre-planned, pre-packaged. sanitized by time and polished by trend forecasters. these clothes lack the authenticity of something literal. these just look like high-priced throwbacks for the generation that missed out on the 'greed is good' decade. those shorts could've just as easily come from spring/summer 2000 givenchy than they could from this collection.

It reminds me a lot of Balenciaga, particularly the first part of the photos.
