Name: Alice van Marcke
Nationality: Belgian
Profession: Fashion Model and I study Graphic and Web Design in Belgium and modeling is my part time job.
Agencies: Dominique Model Agency
Current location: Belgium
How did you start modeling?
‘I started modeling with Ministar Agency for kids when I was very young. I loved it! Then I moved to England for my dad’s job so I stopped. Four years later when I moved back in Belgium, I presented myself to New Models.’
What does your career do for you?
‘Modeling in a way made me be more confident about myself. It allows me to be free, and to show hidden parts of my personality that people don’t see everyday.’
What’s your most memorable shoot?
‘My most memorable shoot was in Barcelona, a few months ago. A really great team to work with and a lot of photos that had to be to done in one day!’
What do you think MODELLIST-ID can do for the model community?
‘I am new to the Modellist-Id but I think it can definitely help young models to start, share tips. But it can also allow models to reunite on one site and share their work and experiences.’
Who do you admire and would you like to meet?
‘I admire Jennifer Massaux from Dominique, she’s a great model and also a photographer and she designs her sets. Later on I would love to do the same and combine my studies, design, and modeling together.’
What’s your beauty regime?
‘I don’t have any in particular I just try to eat as healthy as I can but it’s not always easy when you have a boyfriend and family that loves to eat! I drink a lot of green tea and I drink and eat Alpro Soya.’
What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in?
‘Mostly at friends houses! But I love to have a coffee and cake au Café de la Presse.’
What is your favourite city and where do you like to hang out there?
‘I love Berlin, London and Madrid!’
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
‘It’s not always easy in the beginning and even now to do 4 castings a day and never get a response. You have to be prepared to take critics, which is always hard. But keep believing in yourself and carry on.’
What are your plans for the future?
‘I first have to finish my study. One year left! And then I want to maybe take a year off to travel and find agencies in other countries, as for now I don’t have the time. I would love to combine my study with modeling. And maybe work for shoots with models but be behind the set and directing and editing the shoot!’
