Alta Roma Alta Moda Fall 2005 (July 11-15)

High Rome, High Fashion? Basically the Italian Haute Couture week, Ive never heard of any of those designers so Im not expecting much.

i recognise some of the italian 'couture' names... but i'm dissapointed not to see any greek guest designers there.. :(
btw Alberta Ferretti has her Rome debut this season..

in general Alta Moda tries hard to bring in new fashion but it will take time
i like how they try to push their fashion schools

thanks for the topic atelier :flower:

According to the Alta Roma calendar, Angelos Bratis has an on-going display until the 15th at the Boutique degli Effetti as well as a special event on the 13th, same place.

I don't see any other Greek designers, however. Where is Mi-Ro?

aww thats super, Bratis is so hugely talented... thanks for the info atelier

Mi-Ro skipped last season but they were supposed to show i dont know what happened..

How a chic city like Rome can consistently churn out cheesy fantasies like this is perplexing. Perhaps the real gems are left in the salons. "Jeunesse" doesn't come to mind. I see why Valentino took his luggage elsewhere centuries ago. Is there any designer there under the age of retirement?

Brava, Lena,I've taken note. I guess it's just been so long in the waiting for fresh talent, it's taken me by surprise. I also note he's greek, so they really are finally opening the gates. Very promising. It'd be great to see more of what this open policy can yield. :D
