There is something strong and frustrating with Altuzarra. He knows the cut, the clothes are sophisticated and the details are exquisite.
But, at the same time, he is always referencing the same designers and the same collections.
It is not because he is still referencing Balenciaga spring 2005 that it will become his signature. And really, the Vuitton pants already?

I don't mind the self-references but it's done in a quite boring way compared to his pre-collections.

The look on Fei Fei is the best in this collection...

I think there's actually a lot to love here. Some of the statements coats are really "wow" and i'd love to have one of those fringe-laden sweaters in my closet

I feel like a lot of us on here tend to be overly critical (not just with this designer but with all designers)... especially when it comes to NYFW. It's not Paris, I get it, but I think we can all appreciate it for what it is... or try, anyway.

He loves copying Ghesquiere's work, but this time his version of LV pants is way better than the original one. Here you don't have that awful triangle in the crotch area for example. This collection is quite messy, but it's really not that bad. It's not original, but his clients will be happy.

Much better than whatever it was he'd been trying to do lately. Very desirable, there's some great pieces here, even if it is lacking in originality.

Really? It doesn't get any more basic than that. No kidding, if you like them that much you can do most of them in like half an hour.


I don't even know what to comment about this. It is really nothing.

I really like the final four looks and there are some lovely coats in the mix. It's not wildly inventive, but it's a good collection, and one that Altuzarra customers will adore. I'm seeing some things I really like, namely the outerwear and the accessories, but that black suit is a killer!
