WITH August sales up 77 per cent compared to last year, Amanda Wakeley is in no doubt that she made the right decision in putting her autumn/winter collection on the catwalk. "It's a fantastic catalyst for a label," she says. "It put a new spin on the business and we've had an incredibly positive response." Promising a "complete holiday wardrobe for the modern woman" this time round, she said we could look forward to plenty of glamorous cruise wear as well as party dresses for the beach, for the yacht, and for any exotic destination next summer. "It's quite a soft palette with soft neutrals given accents of pomegranate, opal, khaki and rosemary," the British designer goes on, before adding that one of the things she's most excited about is seeing catwalk newcomer Behati Prinsloo take to the runway. "London doesn't always get all the top girls but she is really stunning," she says. Amanda Wakeley will show on Sunday September 18 at 1.15pm. (September 16 2005, AM)

this stuff bores the crap out of me...it sells by the shedload though. harvey nichs in ED is jam packed with the stuff. Its always the same. great for weddings I am sure!

can't believe it sells that well H. Hate that shade of peachy orange, it's positively nasty. Doesn't do a thing for me really.
