she is definitly fascinating.mystery and ancient knowledges are surrounding her like an aura .this combination of old asian culture and modernism is groundbreaking.perhaps comparable to dolores del rion or even frida kahlo.for a long time i haven´t been very interested in her as an actressn.i had only seen her in fairbank´s the thief of bagdad and in (what was probablx her last silent film)piccadilly.she didn´t leave many traces in my consciousnes...but when i saw her in shanghai express only recently i was mesmerized.she even outplayed marlene in my opinion.i don´t know much about her biography but i can imagine how hard it mut have been for an asian woman in the film industry especially at that time.

argh, i just went through the whole thread and had to recognize that most of my pics are reposts :doh: ouch.i should have been intelligent enough to have a closer look at the thread BEFORE posting.sorry!!but at least there are ,i think, 2 pics that havent´been posted before...:rolleyes: and after all it was time to bring this thread back even if the reposts are a rather annyoing thing.but the thread was resurrected,and i plead unguilty:innocent:!!!
