Watching "The Dying Swan" over the distance of almost a century of uninterrupted nihilism and institutionalized ultraviolence is almost laughable. But not quite. There is still a bit of humanity within us all that makes us weep at the thought of pure beauty in any form disappearing from the world forever. And of course Anna Pavlova understood this better than anyone. B)
