Just realized that the photographer, Luis Alberto Rodriguez, is the one responsible for Naomi’s gorgeous editorial for i-D’s dystopian issue. Now this is a new(?) photographer that needs to be championed more by any glossy editor.

20th anniversary? Feels like a non-event.

^^^ For such a milestone issue from a once titan of premium creativity, it’s pathetically forgettable and utterly uneventful. Robi’s “The Faerie Queene”, Paolo’s “Love is a Dreamer”, and Katerina’s “Where The Wild Roses Grow" are decent enough: A few not-quite-killers but good enough— amongst such fillers.

The only thing that stands out is that Guess has a 4pg spread sandwiched between Loewe’s and Burberry’s… LOL… Do the masses even care about Guess in 2021, let alone Another’s demographic???

Agreed, the "Hold me..." editorial is quite beautiful and has a sombre tone to it that is hard to come by these days. I will definitely be looking out for Luis Alberto and his work from now on.

I wish some of the editorials were special for their anniversary, but with 538 pages, it is hard to do quality control.
