this is the first collection that has brought a smile to my face this entire season . It’s not particularly wearable or commercial or necessarily new but it has ideas and spirit and humour , everything that’s missing so badly in fashion now

This was fresh...when Martin Margiela was at the helm of his brand.

This feels somewhat boring for this brand. There are good pieces, which is nice, but it seems very commercial and restrained.

    it's very funny...
    "god is in the details"...
    ^_^

bowing up bits of clothing into oversized pieces makes the models look barbie sized...
I remember cutting bits of things and trying to refashion them into looks for my barbies...

while I am enchanted with the concept, I don't feel there are many pieces that translate into something you'd want to walk around in...
    the pants are pretty spectacular...
    and the accessories are charming...
but a good deal of it just reads as droopy to me...
    sort of deflated and sad...
I think that some of the pieces could have benefited from being scaled down slightly so as to mitigate that droopiness...

maybe he was just keeping everything the same scale...
which makes sense, of course, in concept...
but I'm not sure it really was the best decision...
each thing probably needed to be scaled according to it's individual characteristics...

I think the grey zip front hoodie turned dress actually works quite well and is pretty innovative and unique...
as well as being something I'd be happy to wear...

I'd be tickled if someone took this idea and made it the entire concept for a brand with an ongoing exploration of the possibilities...
    so many possibilities
