I don't think the guy proved himself a worthy recipient for an important industry price such as ANDAM is - anyhow, a lot of younger crop designers that have won similar prices as of late, such as Mary Katrantzou, proved to be disappointing one-hit-wonders with very little to say than the continuous, obligatory tight-and-short party dresses that Anthony Vaccerello seems to favour as well. It seems rather outrageous how someone like Christian Wjinants, who won the Swiss textiles award several years ago, still doesn't receive half as much acclaim than he deserves!
I see where some Kostas Murkudis associations may be applicable but whereas Kostas also had beautiful tailoring and sportswear, there is not much more to Vaccarello's offering than some pretty damn nasty high splits, cleavage and cutouts. The guy may be Antwerp-trained, but the clothes he is doing are anything but subtle in terms of sexyness.
