Along with Nastya Kusakina and Yumi Lambert, Antonina Vasylchenko was one of those girls, striding anonymously onto the scene in all the SS13 shows, opening and closing for Calvin Klein and walking Dior, Prada and Chanel. She sashayed down the catwalks, all chocolaty thick eyebrows, pillow lips and green stare – her face is a dream! The Ukrainian 17-year-old has just finished studying music and was back again last season with a bunch of editorials under her belt and her name (Tonya to her mates) on everyone’s lips.

How were you discovered?
My school mate invited me to accompany her to the casting for modelling school in my native city where I met my mother agent.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Traveling, meeting new interesting people, working with famous and talented designers.

Do you ever get up to any mischief when you’re backstage at a show? Fortunately, no.

What do you think when you look in the mirror?
It does not take a lot of time so I just check my face and hair and think: is everything OK?

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Not to compare yourself to others.

Who is your favourite model?
Natalia Vodianova.

Who are your best model mates?
Leila Huovila from Finland. We have known each other since my first trip to Milan.

When you were younger what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to work in the bank.

What do you do for fun?
I like to sing songs with my friends.

What are your top 5 beauty tips?
1. do not use a lot of cosmetics in your usual life
2. do a lot of sport
3. try to eat healthy food
4. don’t be angry
5. be positive :-)
