 A most interesting collection from Arkadius for two reasons mainly. First, he showed in New York for the first time since "breaking through" on the London scene several years back. And second, his approach to this collection aligns him closely with the "intellectual" ( ) designers such as Chalayan and Kokosalaki, a significant change of direction for him.

I like the collection, especially the coats, but wish he used more color. The designs seemed original and experimental. One advantage of an expanded palette would have been to emphasize this.

What do you think?

This must be his first 'real' professional collection ever xopher, i bet his new backer is focusing on getting his money back.
Still, Sophia's style seems engraved on most of the looks posted here.
I find this a good collection for his usual standards, but it's not my style at all, he seems to be trying too hard, without managing to bring up any real 'fresh' personal look.
Needless to say, he's not a favourite to me.
thanks for posting 8)

(I'll be away for a week so I'll check all NY shows posts here when I'm back)

sorry xopher
but arkadius doesn't impress me at all
as lena said i think he is very unpersonal
but off course there are some pieces of hizs work that are great
but not soo many in fact  :?

:?

they look like the perfect style for some 80's music video but 2003?? i don't think so... :x

 "Just Beat it! Beat It! No one wantes to be defeated..."

 8)

hahaha very 80's music video
especialy the last red number - so 80's it hurts.

:|
and i like the 80's  i alomost think i could very possibly
be getting over this 80's re hash that has been happening
for a little too long now.

I see it as "deconstructivist Gucciness" (at least the first pics)
D'you agree?

I think it's just the colors that are 80s. :? Well, maybe the second to last coat too. Otherwise it seems more experimental to me, sorta like he's just throwing things out there.

In fact I realized that partly from Lèna's "impersonal" tip... as in you'll find yourself a "look" or two in this collection but not a "style". (Although I think she meant impersonal to apply to his work more generally and not only to this collection.)

i think that it is somethin new in his work/collections 8)

anyone else se "Pink" in the fourth picture in the first set?

what's that green furry gown thing...hmm

a lot of it's cool looking....i like the black top above the red coats.
