    [make eyes look wow
I read for dark and small eyes.
Avoid dark colors stick to light colors. Go with a liner that is dark color but a thin line, even smudge it but avoid thick line, this can actually close up the eye. Apply to the top lid near eyelash line starting with the inner lid and go all the way to the outer lid.
use a shimmery shadow not glittery. Curl your lashes only the top and hold the lash curler for at least 20 sec. Pay close attention to the outer lashes.
Groom your brows. Even without make up a well groomed will make your eyes appear larger, do not go to thin. don't just fill in the sparse spots, pay attention to the tail over your brows. If you use a pencil to fill in make sure to blend so it looks natural.

As for color shadows. If you have brown. Use a light to medium green or gold not yellow. This will pick up the flecks in your eyes and again not heavy. apply from lash line to brow bone blend well. Use a shimmery not glittery.
Also if you use powder makeup use powder shadow and cream makeup with cream makeup. this is helpful when needing to correct mistakes.
Hazel eyes work well with dark green and pale yellows
Blue eyes - brown and rose
Green eyes - lavender (night) and mocha (day)

In every case always apply base to your eyelids it helps with an even application and also hides any vains or stubble (the ones you just can't get at just yet) on the lid.

    Hope this helps.

sometimes all just concentrate on the areas around my upper cheeks/ outer part of eyelid and create a "blushing" eye effect with approx the same color your cheeks are when you blush. or i concentrate on the eyebrows...it basically all ends up looking like this. except the eyebrows would be a little subtler. since asian eyebrows are so fine this look really makes a statement..but most people wouldn't put their finger on it.
i usually wear a natural version of this with a bare face everyday!

Invest in some Asian magazines like Sugar or JJ. They always have step-by-step instructions complete with photos (very important especially if you cannot read Chinese/Japanese like me lol). I don't know if any of you watched What Not to Wear last week but they had this Asian girl and the makeup artist gave her this gorgeous smoky eyed look.

that exact look? or a toned down version? the eyebrows could be achieved w/ a seroius application w/ an eyebrow pencil filled in w/ eyeshadow? btw i don't usually wear a lot of makeup so i dont know all the different kinds...it looks like liquid liner was used on the eyes. the mouth would be taupe lipstick, and foundation for an even all over base w/ some bronzer dusted on top so it doesn't look too ashy?

I think those pics are from a Chinese magazine, not Japanese... (the writing is Chinese).

Anyhow... with brows, I would just get them done professionally... I recommend getting them done at Anastasia (found at Nordstroms). They wax, trim, color, blend, the works... And despite the cost; the you get some great tips and get introduced to some great products. As with a make-over at the make-up counter, at first it may seem dramatic if you are not used to it.

Simple, solid black or white eyeliner...don't try and disguise asian eyes...they are beautiful in their own right. I always get "angry" at Asian women for being too "perfect" looking...generally: slender/petite/great skintone/lovely feautures....gorgeous...
