The wonderful photos from Avant Garde and Style_Savy made me want to create some avatars (w/ or w/o borders). * Edit - Oops - I did the wrong dimensions for the big ones. I will repost them.

I just watched Breafast At Tiffanys and I never understood why she was a fashion icon or why everyone was so fascinated about her, but after watching her on film she is truly beautiful.

She is elegant, chic and I love her body.

^her films with givenchy are so chic!

i loved her costumes in how to steal a million - this is my fave

Audrey and Givenchy

Designer Hubert de Givenchy had an eye for beauty that no one could deny. He and his staff are notable for styling much-admired gowns that perfectly flattered Audrey's figure. Givenchy has humorously recalled that upon meeting (the relatively unknown) Audrey Hepburn for the first time, he had believed he was meeting to consult with great actress Katherine Hepburn. Instead, he was quite surprised to find shy, young Audrey Hepburn at the fitting instead. The designer grew fond of the irresistible actress, aiding the young star's blossoming career by creating exquisite costumes for many of her films. Givenchy not only fashioned Audrey's trademark look, but he was part of a special, deep friendship that extended past ordinary designer/actress collaborations.

Does anyone know if she smoked in real life?

Yes, in one of the books I have about her there is a quote in which she is talking about what her mother taught her, and one of the things is to have only 6 cigarettes a day. And she infers that she kept to this advice, so I guess she did.

Also I think that cigarettes and chocolate were the things that the US soldiers gave out after the war and there are some quotes about that too.

Also here http://smokingsides.com/asfs/H/Hepburn.html

there are some quotes about her smoking.

I hope that helps. :flower:
