oh god we really need to see something more that 2threads pictures of 14 year old poptarts out partying! We need some really gritty street style!! :mowhawk:

I'm going to hit the streets this weekend armed with my camara.

Regards to messy hair, I'd say Melbourne school girls are the primary offenders. oh yes. Wish I had been allowed to be that creative when I was at my snotty British girls school  :(

p.s. I'll just say now that "poptart" is not a derogatory description, just a young girl who is submerged in popular culture.

.......Just thought I would add that before I got myself in trouble!

Hi there Bliss !

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Slackness on my part. I should be taking tons of photos. Melbourne has such great style, I just thought the pics from 2threads weren't doing Oz justice. Also they are mainly Sydney based...:ninja: :innocent:

But I'm going to work on that....

you are right, the pics arent doing OZ justice at all, one reason why I refused to be a 2threads photographer, theres nothing to photograph!!!!! lol ;)

These are great Aliceee!!!
I like what the first two guys are wearing!

Finally, some streetstyle pictures of people that actually look like they have some style. I was beginning to lose hope after seeing so many pictures of 'poptarts', as Fashion Puss kindly put (though I prefer the word hipster/scenester :p)

Thank you aliceee, for bringing this thread back to what it was meant to be for. :flower:

A lot of the girls from these pics look swedish, the blond hair and the tan.

Thanks for those pics! Love that woman's white dress! :)

hi

Ugh...Australian style...what can I say. It's a mixed bag of Supre kids, emo kids, "snappers" (as I like to call thin - so thin you can snap them in half, tanned, blonde girls who all look the same)...and then you get the rare one or two people walking around in individual, stylish clothing. Though those are few and far between.

However, I do like how Melbournites dress - much more eclectic and less mainstream...well it was a few years ago when I lived there.

And as for Vogue  don't get me started! I don't even bother posting there anymore for fear that whatever I say will be deleted. I  TFS!

i go to a snotty sydney girls school and many of us practically roll out of bed and into school! B) (thus my hair "do" takes all of 5 seconds)

Ah yes it would seem it's not just Melbourne that has been struck with these "interesting" hair styles. They're all over Sydney too. Hideous mullets teased into large puff balls with at least one fluro shade streaked through in sections. I think the reason for it is people actually like this over the top couture like hairstyle. Those that sport the do themselves that is.

oh that would be the "emo"/ scene wave hitting australia. Its pretty creepy, definately disturbing, and extroradinarily funny.

Quite deplorable really, oh well. I just turn a blind eye- but what's worse is that annoying " i'm so scene, i'm cool!" attitude. It's quite funny that it's just a basic uniform of ill fitting drainpipes, crayola make-up, layered tops.

i think that australian style can be quite good, but it's a minority and you would only see them in the fashionable areas. unfortunatly the photos posted reflect the faux-emo punk trend thus giving Australians a bad name.
