i have to add to Aussie defences that the mini dress is big right now but not too photographed...

that and those short shorts...

I like my jeans with a variety of tops... I'm not too trendy
these ppl pictured make us look bad but i mean i dont even like aussie street style so I'll add a big EW.

Male? Female? Does it really matter? Sigh... This thread brings a lot of mixed emotions .

What I am wondering is, who are the ones scouting out these 'stylish' people ? I would like to take over their job .

 i lol'd at this.

ahaha titania!

sometimes i honestly wonder if girls/guys just think up the most uncordinated outfit possible and throw it on..then these swines that photograph them are just glorifying their horrible taste!

i thought this outfit was really beautiful, but not something you usually see on the streets of sydney.

That is a really nice outfit. Think it could be nicer if it was loose around the back. And the colour of the hairtie is awful, but overall still very nice.

In other words, Australian style = 'scene' style. Well, based on the pictures that've been posted in this thread, that is. Not that that's necessarily a good/bad thing...

shouldn't this thread be titled 'the lack of australian street style'?

call me pessimistic but when it comes to style, australians are hardly original or daring.

the 'casual', 'resort' look can only go so far without appearing as if we tried to have a go then got lazy half way through and couldn't be bothered to put our pants on.

BUT. don't get me wrong. i love my country. AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!

IMO this thread lacks stylish people, not Australia. I see a lot of fantastic outfits out and about, most of the people featured here seem to be quite young, late teens or early 20s and that's not a true representation of how Australians dress (although a lot of them do dress like that, don't get me wrong).

One thing I hate is how SO many people here will buy something from the Salvation Army store or an op-shop and claim it as 'vintage'

I dunno, I kind of want to beat up the guy in the double denim and I've never beaten anyone up in my life.

i actually like the double denim, the whole look works for him minus the boots, paired with like black vans it would look SICK!

I'd wear that outfit. But I guess it helps when you're spunky :p.
