although I'll concede that in Australia, we do love our colour and fluros (especially scene style), these recent pics are definatly from some kind of fancy dress party. thanks for posting though twill bill, what a laugh!

Gosh it's been a while since i've used this forum What i miss and notice from my recent trips to Thailand and US (Hawaii) is Aussie street style. We're willing to give anything a go... hence some of the wierd and embarssing moments. We DO love our havs, and we're proud of it! I noticed no where else in the world seems to wear thongs so well and fashionably. I think the word Havs is in the Aussie dictionary... if not it should be by now!

It's interesting reading that blog and seeing what the fashionista person has to say about the fashion and what other Australians say.

It seems that photos from this blog at least are just of some crazy Melbournians whom no one really thinks anything of.

some of these last few posts have been horrifying to say the least... i don't even know what kind of dress up party these people are going to!

anyway, www.sportsgirl.com.au has a street style section, it's flash so i can't link it directly, but go to 'spied' >> 'on the street'. there are the ever-present scenesters, but i've come to accept that australian street-fashion-photographers are obsessed with this look.

does anyone read the 's' supplement that comes with sydney's sunday morning herald? i'd love to scan fernando frisoni's weekly column (very occasionaly he unearths some interesting looks) but i don't have a scanner!

edit: after looking at the sportsgirl photos properly, i'm not sure it was even worth linking. most of the looks are very blah. some of them are just... not great.
