Thanks for all the gorgeous pictures. I especially loved the one with Dizzy Gillespie you posted scriptgirl. Although I can't see her entire outfit I just love what she's wearing. She pulls off the big glasses and beret so well. I love her understated and simple style. Ava Gardner looks so fresh, natural and beautiful in the 1940s. That's not to say she didn't look good in the 1950s and beyond but since she was new to Hollywood in the 1940s a lot of her photos have this innocence about them that I love.
I wish Ava had made more films. I read she was first offered the role of Mrs. Robinson and even though I think Anne Bancroft was great in the role I think Ava Gardner would have been fantastic.
