Anna Coleman will launch her Instant Vintage clothing line at NeoTrash in Ybor City next week.
...
"It's a tight space," Coleman said."But yeah, everything happens here."

Coleman, 30, sketches her dresses while watching Ava Gardner's curves and hem lines in Hollywood classics.

"You just can't find those patterns these days," Coleman said."I love that whole feel, that whole glamour."

Along with Ava, Coleman is inspired by vintage Barbie dolls, minimodels of the feminine '50s.She hopes her line, much like Barbie, will be around for a long time.

In particular, we’re currently channeling Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner’s style in the very gorgeous 1953 movie, Mogambo. The classic film takes place Kenya and the plot is set in motion by Ava Gardner’s character, who is on the hunt for a different sort of "big game" than one might associate with a safari. Specifically, she’s tracking a rich man, and naturally high jinx ensue when Gardner gets tangled up with Clark Gable and Grace Kelly. Plot aside, both actresses wear exemplary versions of safari chic ensembles and should be your muses for this look. You can also check out the spring runways of Bottega Venetta, Versace, and Donna Karan for their modern versions of Mogambo.

The 40s saw the emergence of two unforgettable screen sirens: Ava Gardner and Veronica Lake. Both women exuded glamour and sex appeal topped off with elegance.
Elegant Blonde Veronica Lake and sultry brunette Ava Gardner are the screen sirens of this decade, and neither ever saw an evening gown they couldn't improve with their considerable assets.

British burlesque sensation Immodesty Blaize, real name Kelly Fletcher, left her job in advertising to ply her saucy trade. Here is our no holds barred interview with her.

How did you get into burlesque?
I’ve been doing it for around ten years and I like to think I’ve played my part in its revival. I was fascinated by statuesque, sexy women from a very early age. My mum looked like Wonder Woman and I aspired to have that kind of image. I loved films like Gypsy – the story of Gypsy Rose Lee – and anything with Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner – women with that voluptuous, Italian figure.

If Escada's latest collection reminded you of something, you're not the only one.
Think Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner in Mogambo with their tailored jackets, cropped pants and summer dresses but updated in rich jeweled tones asymmetrically draped and given a modern and elegant silhouette.

TCM will salute great movie costumes as part of Oscar Month. Look out for Ava Gardner's chic Fifties wardrobe in Mogambo, Faye Dunaway's berets, quirky knits and pencil skirts in Bonnie and Clyde and Grace Kelly's poolside elegance in High Society.
