Azzedine Alaïa 'Alaïa' Fragrance : Guinevere Van Seenus by Paolo Roversi

Is the fishbone motif intentional? It's a great shot, but maybe a bit more movement would've made it less...static?

I would like to see some arms, but still its an amazing shot

I really love it, it's very old school.

It's a pretty great ad but I'm kinda surprised he didn't pick one of his girls like Naomi or Stephanie, I'm sure they woulda done it for free! lol.

Great bottle and everybody loves Alaia but that picture...
I mean, i expected something more memorable or even one of his muse. I mean, Guinevere? She is great but for Alaia, maybe Karolina Kurkova, Naomi or Stephanie or better: Ana Carolina Reis!

^Guinevere very much has a "supermodel" body like those women.

^ it's not about having a "supermodel" body. She is a great model. It's much about choosing someone who (for the general public) is linked to Alaia.
For his first fragrance, i expected (like many people i believe) one of his iconic girl.

^^^ Absolutely.

The image, the styling, the composition, the tone-- it's all so... cold-- so unlike everything I associate with Alaia. Resembles an Absolute Vodka ad.

Guinevere is one of my favs, but she's more suited for a dark cinematic glamor, or a quirkiness, neither of which I associate with Alaia. Like others have mentioned, Stephanie, Naomi, Christy or Linda would have carried a much stronger branding for Alaia's first fragrance so much better.

Very odd direction.

Can't wait to have the HQ ! I really like Guinevere and was so eager to see her. It looks promising.

I really love it, it's very old school.

It is, even when I could've expected a proper Alaia glamazon but maybe that would've been too obvious.

I'm also thinking that dress and Guinevere's silhouette would've made for a killer bottle.

Guinevere's features are amazing, she could pass for any female mythical creature of the Odyssey.

This kind of aesthetic is very unusual for a fragrance, but I like it. Way to stand out ;)

I saw it in Stylist and the page is now stuck above my desk. I just came here too check that it was Paolo Roversi - his dreamy surreal photos are unmistakeable.
Though I love it, I will agree it doesn't really sit with my idea of Alaia, though it does sit with my idea of a perfume ad - think Opium. I haven't tested this yet but I'm assuming it's not going to be a light fresh bouquet of spring blossom.
Heady, exotic and erotic is the scent this ad portrays to me.
