Balenciaga F/W 07.08 Paris

Oh my, the shoes are insanity! And I mean that in a good way. They're outrageous but amazing! I think I'm beginning to love this collection ^_^

wow thanks for the pics kevin! The shoes are amazing...they remind me of toys I used to play with

Haha yes! Legos came into mind...

i love the open toe, high heel hiking boots, but i hate the high heel ski boots...(reminds me so much of dsquared...)

thanks for the detail shots kevinn...:flower:

those boots take me back to those horrible manolo blahnik stiletto "timberlands"...:ninja: :ninja:

Oh no...the jackets are going to be expensive!:o

For instance, this one:

look at the buttons (in addition to the fabric&trims): last time i know they were using the factory that makes Chanel jewelry to make all those colorful buttons and they were expensive. those new buttons, only look more complicated hence more expensive

the shoes remind me of the shoulder pad thingies on football players' uniforms

i think it's nice. some of the pieces take me back to the baroque/naval influences of ss05 and ss06.
most of the patterns and colours are beautiful

jodhpurs?! is there a single person on earth who can look good in thse? it's small at the ankle and billowy at the top! how many women want pants that give the illusion of broad, full hips?

 The pants were my favorite part! They might be hard to pull off in real life, but I think Nicolas really has an eye for trousers. S/S '06's baroque prints and graphic stripes, S/S '06's metallics, and now these!

Wow! Somehow I completely missed the shoes! Those are so bizzare! It's funny to think about the four figure price tag they'll inevitably have, even with the childish design.

WTF, Nic?

Apart from the styling (which is not a good thing for a Balenciaga collection) the pieces are exremely basic and unimaginative. Considering his last few collections of innovative and precision shapes/cuts, this looks freakin amateurish.

This totally kisses the *** of every sloppy young starlet in Hollywood, and I for one will not take it.

The shoes are incredible. The design element in the clothes is often a little bit basic but I love this idea of overlapping global references—manga, Russia, Mongolia, sportswear. It's not new to fashion but it's certainly new to Balenciaga. That makes it feel very 21st century to me.
