Balenciaga F/W 2017.18 by Johnny Dufort | the Fashion Spot

Balenciaga F/W 2017.18 by Johnny Dufort

I saw these earlier today on WWD, but didn't think it was the campaign! Very underwhelming. For a house with such a definite direction, they're certainly getting worse and worse each season (in terms of ad campaigns).

This collection was so amazing I would have loved to see something more dramatic... not just bored looking models...

Someone got paid for these images?

Full cast: Sveta Black, Oliwia Lis, Kennah Lau and Barbra-Lee Grant alongside Danish actress Emma Leth and New York artist Eliza Douglas.

Not sure Johnny Dufort was the right photographer for this, these images are too soft. I would have appreciated something sleeker. And I'm over Lotta.

The skirt in the first image looks like a car mat. I don't think the model could sit up if she wanted.

You know...it's like the clothes aren't always so bad, here....it's just that Lotta has to go. And the lazy attitude should go, too.

I don't need the cheesy, over-the-top Klein ads during the Wang era...but I also wouldn't mind seeing a bit of glamour here...a bit of higher production value...instead of this lo-fi, smarmy attitude we always get from Demna.

Because frankly, I'm so tired of this kind of candid, low-effort look in fashion...I want some sex appeal and I want some energy...and I want it NOW! hahaha

It's just okay. It's barley one step above a look book. The poses are what save it.

:lol: Aww, that's my favourite look of the collection. That effortless CK/Jil Sander type of glamour - simple turtleneck with showy skirt.

But yea, this campaign isn't doing his collection any favours.

For his strongest collection at the house, this campaign does nothing to it. Actually, I started to dislike the collection now.

Me likey.^_^

I'm surprised

I don't like it at all. I can see where they were going but the execution is all wrong. Wrong photographer, wrong models, wrong styling. It's just trying to be different too freaking hard.

I still have no idea where this Dufort guy came from, the fist time I noticed him was that Tom Ford campaign that had nothing to do with this. Looking at his portfolio at Management Artists it seems like these days he has transformed into a second-rate David Sims, quite funny to see.

As others have said, this looks more like a lookbook, one you see on WWD before the good images turn up on vogue.com.

The first campaign was great, the second was pretentious and the third is...blah!
I'm actually surprised to see this from Demna. I had the impression that he had a very sharp vision of the way he wanted to express the visual identity of the brand.

He can do much more than a girl sitting in front of a Balenciaga logo wallpaper...

What's the point of changing photographers to do the same exact thing everytime. I need some dynamism..
