Balenciaga S/S 2006 Paris

In elle spril there was a mans jacket that was nearly identical to the blue jacket caffiene has.

I just checked and UPS ground doesn't delivery on satudays. Have to wait until monday

For your personal reference, one of the most beautifully made, wearable couture garments that Nicolas Guesquière ever made for Balenciaga. I´ve seen it in person, it is nothing but amazing.

I actually guess that it is the navy blue Dior Homme jacket in the magazine. it's way more expensive than the Balenciaga jacket, and I can't figure out the reason from the picture.

Why does Fashionfile.com call Balenciaga "Balenciaga Le Dix" Is that the full title? I didnt really get it. The Ten what?

why was it ever called 'le dix' though? yeah, ten what?

i went to susan's in san francisco and they had a few pieces from the collection...
they had the "devils in balenciaga" tank without the pearls...
the navy brocade pants (i tried them on...very tight in the hips/thigh)...

the black jacket like grill has (too big for me :( )
one of the cocoon dresses in black which was soooo lovely, but also too big for me...

the craftsmanship on all the pieces is superb
my SA is going to call me when they get in more jackets and also the shoes...
they are slowly starting to get stuff in...

To clarify the matter; there´s no equivalent to these fitted brocade jackets in the Balenciaga menswear collection.

The brown suede jacket that Jeisa wore in the show comes back indentically sans the crest embroidery (I love how they added a small suede brush to this piece... such a cute touch!)... It´s actually really superb quality leather, which comes both in the rich, deep brown and a light, sandish colour, as well as a black or white chintzed windbreaker (this one looks a bit like Dior Homme several years ago). I tried them ALL in the showroom/shop in Paris and fell in love, the fit is amazing... and not too expensive either, compared to Dior.

The "Devils in Balenciaga" print tees come back as well, as already mentioned before, not much to talk about here.

Finally, the b&w striped cotton jacquard comes back both in a plain two-button blazer and a pair of pants, although I can´t tell anymore if the cut was indeed superskinny or straight-legged.

Like caffiene and tricotineacetat mentioned, I dont think it's balenciaga, but looks a lot like it.

My mom gives away my magazines after I'm done with them, so i dont have it anymore unfortunatly or I would take a pic. It was a much brighter blue color and although the print was very similar, it seems kind of "flat" unlike the balenciaga pieces.

I looked up and there was one. I was not sure if it was Dior homme (the DH jacket was actually in W magazine:p), but it looked really "flat", i.e., not tailored at all. The blue was also a cheap shade of blue (or due to the print of the magazine).Anyways, I hate that jacket
Now I am actually very curious about the DH jacket. I'm not sure why it is that expensive. maybe in $8k range if my memories are right. why, why, why?

The original Balenciaga atelier and current Paris headquarters are at 10, avenue George V. It just referred to the importance of the number ten, symbolically.

i never thought about it that way, but it makes sense.

a note on the use of the street number: Back in the old days fashion houses literally referred to an actual house. The street and number were an important part of the designer's identity. 30 Rue Montaigne was Christian Dior's address for example. Of course many times the workrooms and offices would expand well beyond the intial site and in Dior's case it annexed several neighboring structures.

Hmmm...well they're doing some weird, expensive, unnoticeable details in pieces...like jackets lined with sequins and stuff like that, so...maybe it's something dumb like that.
