^ is it strange though? looking like your common fashion ad next to the Austrians (to put a random example).
Sometimes I feel like I contribute to the vulture-esque culture where you find yourself yelling "NEXT! MORE!" within a season or two, but really, when you look at Harley's work from 2012 (Leur Logette, etc).. and when you look at the way these legendary/established photographers (Demarchelier, Vanderperre, Turbeville in an extreme case.. even Teller) have nurtured their work along the years and redirected it slowly as they assimilate moods and elements that suit their work.. I'm sure the problem isn't really just the spectator, but the lack of interest among younger photographers in staying firm to their identity, finding their own voice or exploring something to some depth that challenges their own work before walking (instead of jumping) onto the next thing. They're willing to do or imitate whatever or whomever is necessary for exposure. So we end up with everyone looking like everyone and being perfectly replaceable.
I'm sure the whole point of luxury labels is to cater to the shallow and so extremely trendy they enter that awkward smug territory where they're not sure what they're attracted to is an actual trend or a byproduct of their one-of-a-kind mind .. so these three pictures accomplish the mission.
