Balmain F/W 12.13 : Clément Chabernaud & Nadja Bender by David Sims

this is super! The contrast of the soft and bare background with the embellished clothing is perfection. Also the model is just wonderful to look at :)

she def looks nothing like loulou robert like its claimed to be before the mod change the title. so happy for nadja!

love this campaign although it lacks energy

I can't call myself a Balmain fan, but in my eyes it's really good to see they've chosen to set the model against the simple and modest background instead of the already opulent pieces to 'shine' in some overly retouched and predictable studio version. Same goes for her gestures, clothes get to stand out, and for a change you can feel some kind of emotion exude from these designs which usually is not the case.

When he's on his own, David Sims is capable of producing truly beautiful campaigns.. this has a similar light and mood as his Jil Sander ads with Elise Crombez and then his TSE ads. Glad to see he's still got it after all these years.

I 'm glad they stepped away from there previous campaigns but I find it utterly boring and just as bad in a different way.

well even though it's not Loulou, I still think this is gorgeous... please someone post better quality ones!

It's appreciate how it's focused on the motion of light on the model, but to be completely honest I just don't like it.

And I get exactly what you mean, Heatheranne. It does really feel like the work you see by a lot of fashion bloggers and young girls who mock fashion shoots-somewhat deadpan, relying on the quality of light to evoke an emotion or feeling, but instead it leaves me apathetic.

It'll be a nice relief flipping through magazines though...

Surprised to find out it's Nadja, but not at the same time. She may start growing on me after this.

Same here actually... if you think about it it's quite amusing how a single picture can make you look someone with different eyes.

i don't get it..it's so dull, and the collection was so gorgeous and colourful!
