Balmain Menswear S/S 2024 Paris

I think there’s something that I appreciate in the exuberance of his work for Balmain. I feel like this is lighter, more down to earth and slightly chicer than what he proposed before.
That being said, the denim is tacky in the non fun way. He needs to move on from that.

The ivory-colored dinner jacket with abstracted birds or flame appliqué is really quite something and could have fitted well with Schiaparelli, if they had a menswear line...!

I will just never buy his vision. I can enjoy opulence verging on trashy but only when Versace does it. Balmain is just truly hideous to me. But kudos to him for what he's brought to the house communications-wise.

I fathom the idea that Louis Vuitton menswear would look something like if Ghesquière was at the helm there.

Although, you can see Rousteing's tastes which differ from Ghesquière's present throughout.

Very colourful, overwhelming swaginess, hints of streetwear and interesting accessories.

Balmain only sort of makes sense in the mens department. Since he cant do flou his inclinations naturally work better on “masculine” styles.

I think the best part are the warped lapel jackets. Truly something.

Plain ridiculous and to think he used to make creative interesting clothes, my gosh.
It looks like a circus in the cheapest way possible.

He's the kind of designer who loves to spend way way way more time on himself and on social media rather than being a ''real'' designer and working on cool collections.
