Bangs - Styling, Side Bangs, Fringes etc.

I don't particularly care for my hair line so I wear bangs. I rebelled for years but when I got my hair cut this past year, I got them and they looked spectacular. Thanks to my bangs, I never knew how fast my hair grows. I have the straight bangs that are more wisp less heavy.

I like V shaped bangs (longer in center, shorter on sides, like a V) but not everyone can pull it off. I also like side, sweepy bangs... short baby bangs.... I'm not a huge fan of thick clunky bangs though, unless you're also pulling off the entire 60's mod look.

Sideswept bangs?

I was thinking of doing it. My hair is to my shoulders now and blonde, but this is my only pic. I want maybe a sidesweep that i can also part in the middle. Any suggestions? Any pics of models or celebs with a similar style?
Thanks!

I like how LiLo wears (or rather wore) her bangs. Maybe that's what you're looking for.

What do you guys think of Heidi's bangs?

I'm thinking of getting my hair cut like that (I have long, straight, brown hair)!
I kinda dig side bangs more, but my best friend who already looks a lot like me has that kind of hair cut and I don't know,I hate when people think that we look alike:wacko: and so does she!

I love bangs the way heidi had them. make sure you go all the way and do it just like this...nothing worse than skim bangs.
I think this would also look great on boho belle.
I think that the sides have to be a tad longer like this pic of heidi, so that you CAN side sweep if you want.
I had straight hair like yours bohobelle for a long time and was always kind of cutting bangs, and finally just got a good stylist and went for the plunge. it was the best thing I did. it's good to change, people react differently and it also brings new energy and life.
i am growing mine out now..until I decide my new style.

Fringes?

Hi!

I have a appointment for a colour and cut this Thursday at my regular hairdressers.

Everytime I go there I always say I want something different than what I usually have, but I always wimp out!

My hair is just above shoulder length, a chesnut brown with some darker and lighter shades of brown in there still from last time I had my hair hi-lighted. I had a fringe when I was about 12 but grew it out and its the way it has been ever since. I have had my hair layered and razor cut a few times to give it a bit move definition and movement, but that is about it.

It has now getting down to about shoulder length and I want a change! I am going to stay with my hair colour but adding some lighter and darker shades of brown to my hair.

However, I have been thinking about having a fringe. Possibly something like the below picture;

or something a bit more chunkier, I really am not sure. I am also doubting if I would suit a fringe. Is there a sort of person who does suit it and who doesnt??

I really want a change but I can feel myself wimping out and staying with the old reliable boring cut!

Have any of you got any advice for me and if possible some pictures of medium - short hair cuts, with fringes, either soft or chunky?

I have seen a few I like, but really want some advice!

Thanks!

:D

I have a question to those that have tried to cut their bangs themselves...

Is it difficult? Is it a bad idea? Have you got any tips?

Thanks :flower:;)

What I usually do is pull up my hair in a bun, and then separate a thin segment of hair that is just about the width of your face from your front hairline. Then, I just snip straight across. I don't cut my bangs wet or pull my hair in front of my face, because hair bounces back into shape. So, I just come then straight in front of my face and trim as long as I like. For me, usually my bangs are pretty much inline with my eyebrows. Not above, unless you want that effect. Good luck to you!

Is there anyone with curly hair who has bangs? If so, are your bangs curly or do you straighten them out?

me - i had to straighten them out - otherwise it was just like a big ball of fluff on my forehead
i did that about two years ago and since then i've grown them into a long side fringe and i keep it this way (suits my face better)

^ same here. I actually like having my bangs be straight, but the rest of my hair semi-curly. It's looks alright... at least that's what I think ^_^

Do you guys reccomend any good styling serum/gel for bangs to give them more volume, With my thick hair, it seems weird that it's lacking volume up there.

you shouldn't have problems to get used to it, it a beautiful look!!

If ya'll wanted to know what it would look like if you had curly hair and side bangs, this is a pic of me and my freind, i am the one with curly hair on the left, ok so hope this helps ^.^

i am really really really considering re-getting bangs (i had some like almost 2 yrs ago)... but the cons are so big: slight styling needed, i'll have to put my hair down (and I hate because I hate having something hanging on my face), breaking out on the forehead, the painful and ugly growing out process.....

but I am in love with bangs at the moment...

I miss my bangs..... And they look so sweet with head-bands..... But I agree with you Kimkhuu on the painful and ugly growing out process . And I kinda like my hair how it is at the moment :).

I am torn too. I had bangs in many variations over the past 4 years. I finall have them down to chin length...but just part my hair, since I have a lot of layers in the back, it sort of flows. But, now, I am re-considering, just because it can look good.
The one thing I don't like is, when I gain a little weight in my face, I look like I have a very round face..
Any updated bang pics? I might get some side swept.
