Bangs - Styling, Side Bangs, Fringes etc.

I've been thinking about getting my hair cut in side bangs, but I don't hav the guts to do it! I'm always worrying about something...what if it turns out really bad, etc.

also I have a wide chubbyish face...bleurgh...and that kind of round wide face isnt too good for sidebangs is it? Since the width of the bangs would emphasize how wide my face is or something, if you know what I mean..
Right now I can just frame my face with my hair in an attempt not to show my wide face too much..

right now my hair is very naturally layered, so it just looks straight. My hair refuses to curl or go wavy, and looks very straight and limp, no volume at all...would that work with bangs? lol sry for being kinda paranoid...if anyone can give me some help or suggestions that would be great! thankies :)

My philosophy with hair: it grows back, so I'll try almost anything with it. It might just mean 3 months to a year of inconvenience if the style doesn't work out.

In terms of bangs - usually, with a roundish face, side-swept bangs work, but it will also depend on your features.

I have a round face (and an enormous forehead), and I've tried everything. Side-swept bangs, no bangs, a Irina Lazereanu-type fringe (which I have right now). I don't have photos handy at the moment, but PM me, and I can direct you to one of my online networking accounts where I have pictures up if you want to see how my own hair experimentation worked out.

Also, you can consult your hairdresser on what might look best on you.

With a round face a longer side swept fringe works well (depending on features of course). I have a round, slighty chubby face and a bit of a pointy nose. I had a side swept fringe cut last year, and it did work well. Just make sure your hairdresser knows that they're doing, because some peoples hair simply won't sit to the side properly if they have a crown at the front that makes their hair sit in the opposite direction. I had to style my every day with a hair straightener, and I'm just too lazy for that, which is why I have since grown it out and have gone for long layers all over instead.

haha^ thats funny (the painting)...but i actually think they will look great right above the eyebrows it will bring out your eyes and lips! do it, you won't regret it

^There's one on my myspace  I decided to get side-swept bangs, since I had Irina bangs for years

i just got a heavy fringe...some of you would call it the 'irina' look. i LOVE it. not had it like this with long hair before, it's such a refreshing change!!

i'm growing out my bangs and i really don't know what to do about them. i had full frontal bangs and now they're at an undefined lengh and shape. i try to wear them to the side, but they look weird so i throw them back with my hand once in a while so they look like Angelina's or Charlotte Casiraghi's hair

wow, your hair is so cute - great job on the bangs! :flower: i cut mine myself too. ^_^

Thank you!

I usually cut them myself because the hair stylists never do it right. I like the sides to be longer and they always try to cut them straight across from ear to ear - uhg!

What are your bangs like, m'dear? :flower:

hihi I cut my bangs myself too. As a matter of fact I'll re cut them tonight - inspired by my gorgeous Reese's hair at the GGs

^ i remember being inspired by her on Legally Blonde II where she had swept bangs

i always cut my own! everytime i cut my own hair i do a better job..
