Bangs - Styling, Side Bangs, Fringes etc.

Got 'em blunted today. ^_^ I'm not disappointed. They are a little shorter than I planned for them to be, but they look great on me! :woot: I had thought about making the part where my bangs start go farther back on my head, but my hairdresser said it was fine.

If you need a mental picture, think of Summer from (500) Days of Summer.

I have totally straight bangs, but I would so love to have my bangs like these.Aren't they pretty?

i wish i could rock a fringe. but i have to small of a 4head, in fact i have about a 2 and ahalf head.

^ I have a fairly small forehead and have bangs/fringe. I'm starting to think though that I should aim for bangs that are more Betty Page than Jane Birkin. I don't like it when it gets in front of my eyes.

I always wanted bangs but my hair is really fine and I am blessed with cowlicks and a widow's peak-not bang friendly. But mine is kind of side ways, I have short Jean Seberg hair. When I tried a real Lou Doillon fringe, it got so thin, not chic.

I gave in! I told myself I was going to grow my hair one length but I couldnt help it. My hair was so boring! so I cut it again. I have a round face and cut it short to eye length. My forehead isnt that big or too small I guess its in the middle? lol but Im glad I cut it I feel so much better now that I have some kind of style.

I have bangs over a year now,and I have really noticed that they aren't the same as when I have cut them.Probably they changed because of ironing ( and when I'm preparing for mourning I'm only ironing my bangs not my whole hair), and I can't style them they way I used to.I always thought the ironing won't damage my hair because it's very thick and good, but guess it did.

I have thick strong hair and for months I had straight blunt bangs that covered my eyebrows.
I had to straighten them every day to look good though. They looked very nice but I got sick of having to maintain so now I'm growing them out. I have grown them quite a bit longer but now the hairs keep breaking and splitting because I straightened them so much.
(even though I used a Chi straightener and Redken heat protector at all times).

I'm a serial dabbler in bangs. I get a full fringe, and then 3 days later,if that,I'm bored of them and realise that I don't have the time or the effort required to maintain them. Having said that...I really want a full fringe again. It's been a while since I last had one, nearly 2 years I think, and I can't remember how long they take to grow out?

^ It depends on how fast your hair growth is. Mine grows out pretty moderately. I try to have it trimmed at least once a month. If I get lazy and they're getting pretty long, I turn them into sidebangs so they don't cover my eyes.

^ I've been having to do that. :ermm: Upkeep of blunt bangs is pretty annoying since I have to get a cut every 3 weeks. My mother does it for me but she doesn't do a very good job, but I'd rather that than pay 20$ or more for a trip to the salon every 3 weeks. :ermm:

I do not love my bangs in the summer. The sweat collects underneath like some sort of green house.:blush:

^ $20 to trim your bangs?.... That's ridiculous!!!!!
Do you frequent the same salon often?
If so they should be trimming your bangs for little to no charge between haircuts.
At least that is what every salon I have gone to ( and wanted to go back to) does.

^ I should probably ask if they'll do it for little to no charge. I'm taking my mother's word. "They will charge you full price even if all you want cut are your bangs. I will cut it for you.":blush:

I do need to get it all touched up. My mother has been trimming my bangs for about 3 months, so the ends aren't looking their best and the side pieces have been getting longer and a bit thicker. In general, everything needs a re-shaping. I will go ahead and ask. Thanks brokenenglish. (I need to get off my lazy **** and just ask!)

Does anyone know of a good way to keep my bangs from not getting oily? My job requires me to be outdoors a lot so I always put on sunscreen, and sunscreen makes my face oily. Thus, my bangs get oily and clump together into chunky strands. It's not purdy. :innocent: Does anyone know of a good product that'll keep my hair from doing that? (Maybe I'm better off asking for a new oil-free sunscreen!)

^ No worries :)
Here's a link to a little info about it http://yourbeautyspot.ninemsn.com.au/tipsandtricks/top4/263623/the-best-dry-hair-shampoos
I can tell you that it is a spray, kind of like hair spray. You spray it where your hair feels greasy, the brush it through and WALLA your hair looks and feels as though you have washed, blow dried and styled it! It's really fantastic!
Just a tip. Try not to use it 20 times a day - I did haha and my fringe got a little too dry in terms of the hair condition.
I have Label M and it's greeaaaat!
xx

I finally did it again,I got a full fringe! And 4 weeks later it's still there!! I'm really loving it and suits me a lot more than having a side fringe,I almost feel like a different person. However I'm having difficulty straightening it and making it stay where I'd like it to do,on my forehead lol. Any advice?
