Bape clothing

It's interesting how you say that, I agree...Nigo would probably look down on those kids severely. Yet Bape kind of has an 'old boys club' mentality to it...when you look at Nigo's own clique, including the Teriyaki Boyz but also their American counterparts who are in with Nigo such as Jay-Z, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz...Nigo willingly dresses them head to toe in his own clothes and adores them for it. Yet when it comes to the mass consumers, he can't stand it. Interesting dichotomy.

Yet there is something to be said about 'flair,' even if the designs themselves are noticeably unremarkable...with all the Pharrell clones decked out in diamond hoodies and ice cream shirts, none of them can really match the originator. And in this sense I can understand the kind of hate one would have towards these consumers...every item of clothing no matter what it is really requires the right person to carry it off. If it doesn't work, then it just makes your clothes look bad.

I remember reading an interview/article about him and he said something about the Japanese youth not knowing where they were going or something like that. I wish I could remember the link because it was interesting he explained his global vision for A Bathing Ape.

Yeah, there is an article where they were talking about "freeters"...

Does anyone know where i can buy at? Like online? I cant find it anywhere. I tried their online website but I cant buy! How dumb! :(

I am person who loves sneakers. All in all BAPE is just hyped up over priced junk imo. To person who wanted to purchace them online, pickyourshoes.com,vintagekicks.com or ebay. You can spend 300$ or more on some patent leather shiny garbage if you want to.

P.S.
Be careful shopping on Ebay.

you can't see what isn't there...
:p

...

This explains why I'm seeing it everywhere now.

Well I wasnt looking for shoes I was looking for jackets. I saw a guy the other day wearing one in the barber shop. He told me he paid $300 for it. Also Pharell wears one. I want a jacket! :D Any ideas where online i can get one?

Are you talking about a hoodie or a jacket. A hoodie will cost you about $800 and they can be purchased on Ebay(will post some legit sellers, from niketalk or iss). You can also purchase them at BWS in SOHO. A jacket will probalbly cost you about $1000+ and will be hard to find. The reason Pharell had one is because he and Nigo are best friends/business partners. Good luck on your hopful new purchase.:D

Let me make a correction some not all Bape hoodies are $800. Most of them are $275+. A legit seller on Ebay in Pondon.

Wait...isnt Nigo that asian guy who hangs with Pharell? Yea and Im talking about a hoodie btw :D I sooo want one! Im gonna get one!

I like the sneaker with the leopard print the rest looks too me like rubbisch for little kids i think ..just an arty farty ..de rest of it

Nigo is the japanese guy who hangs out with Pharell and when he opens his mouth you can see howhe spent some of his money.

Can't beat this. 2 Kids were on a tour over at parsons. Both had matching white multicolored bathing ape hoodies, bathing ape tshirt, bathing ape jeans, bathing ape shoes and bathing ape camo backpacks. Both of them, same exact pieces head to toe.

I cringed at the thought they would be going into design.

well I saw in Queens, NY at a show... Three guys in bathing ape hoodies all sitting right next to each other. They totally stood out and it was just awkward. Don't get me wrong, the designs are great but if a group of friends decide to wear them all together, it just calls for stares and :yuk::sick::yuk:!!!

 i want a hoodie too :D

BAPe is just hype and will die down eventually. If you cant find a hoodie i suggest getting some fabric and having a hoodie made. Not only will it be unique, you will be the only person who has it.

My belief is that in 5 years wearing BAPE will be about as cool and trendy as wearing Hypercolor. As several others have mentioned, unless it RADICALLY alters its image and its type, it will certainly be a "here today, gone tomorrow."

John

p.s. In 5th grade, btw, I absolutely loved my Hypercolor shirt and wouldn't have traded it for Hermes.
