Bernhard Willhelm | S/S 2001

Ha! When I saw the first picture I thought "ah, here's the collection with Droogist's skirt!"

Cerfas, if you haven't, you should look at the picture of her wearing it. Do you read that thread? I don't recall seeing you post in it before. You should.

I haven't read that thread yet--I just posted in it now and checked out droogist's pictures. Love the socks that she's wearing under her legwarmers--very Willhelmy.

We had a serious think about stocking Bernhard for this and next season...but well, we decided against it on the assumption that his clothes were a load of...:S

jhaime, trust me when I tell you...just because of the overall style, his clothes really aren't as you poignantly described  Actually the pieces alone would most likely garner loads of customs because they are easy and versatile....and hip. Alot hipper than has-been Marc Jacobs,to be honest. Plus, his stuff IS of good quality....he's great craftsman despite everything that's said of him superficially.

I've always thought his stuff was ugly, but I'm really looking at his complete runway looks. Seeing Droogist wearing just one piece changed my mind. It really works if you do what she did. Yay for Droogist.

that's Bernhards BEST collection since then..
what a pity that he lost it completly..

actually i was in the show and the music was absolutely dreamy

Aw c'mon Alex you're embarassing me

I think Scott is quite right: BW's clothes look much more attractive off the runway. I've almost always been pleasantly surprised each time I've seen his collections in stores. Head-to-toe BW may look pretty scary, but when you start to look at the individual pieces, you find a lot of desireable things.

And you have to remember too, designers never put every single piece they make on the catwalk....so indeed, alot of times one gets surprised with Bernhard.

ugh..i'm so torn..i really love some of this stuff and really hate some of it..such a dilemma! i do really like the colors and prints on some of the first images posted, but i don't like the sort of punkier stuff towards the end...and the skirt that droogist owns is beautiful!

Lena--you were IN the show? ! How cool!! What was the music?

yes, i was cerfas ;)
music was somekind of acoustic folksy 'blues' thing, bit hippy with a twist and very fresh
if only i knew the band playing, could have been one of those Norwegian bands that are so hot right now... beautiful sounds, still looking for this

Too bad that you didn't get to check out that Jurgi presentation at the Jardin de Tuileries as well. In retrospect, they were probably the strongest and most unique collections that season.

I love this collection so so so much:heart: . I love the dreamy childishness, it's so gorgeous. I hesitate to say it was his best, or my favorite, but I think it's all amazing, it was the first collection I saw from him and it made me fall in love with his stuff.

I agree his 'ugly' stuff is not the best, but I find all the concepts really intresting and relevant.

i don't see any hing wrong with making something new for the sake of making something new. We need people to make new things to creat a new world^_^ .

enough gushing from me...

Here's a few of Carmen Freudenthal and Elle Verhagen's amazing look-book images:

They had some on their web site as well but it doesn't seem to be working at the mo.

Scott! Thank you thank you.
What is their web site again?
