are you just able to use the stain for your lips as well as cheeks and other things?

From what I know, stains literally stain you. And I guess they can feel drying too, which is why a lot of them have a clear gloss on the other end.

Are we all pale with dark hair? Maybe the stain attracts us..

Yes, stains stain the lip until you wash them off. They do not look creamy like lipstick can, or glossy like lip gloss can. They are liteally a stain.

I tried on a berry colored lip stain once, it looked like I just ate a popsicle. Think I will stick with lipsticks for now.

i thought i read somewhere here there are stains for cheeks and things
and whenever you see models backstage and see what the makeup artist does, there are sometimes these creams that they put on their faces which colours it. i guess it's possible it's some kind of paint though

anyway those fake tan sprays/lotions are also stains
though i have seen them use a cream/paint instead

no, you're right - there are definitely cheek (skin) stains! sometimes they state that they can be used on lips and cheeks, and some are lips only or cheeks only. cheek stains are nice because they meld with your skin and don't look powdery or like blush just 'sitting on top' of your skin. they tend to wear better than powder blush as well.

I'm currently loving Bobbi Brown Matte Lip Stains, I find they last forever and they come in an array of colours. You can also apply them to be just a light stain or a full blown colour punch.

I use a lot of benefit benetint, but i just bought one by bourgeois (sp?) and it's really great, and comes in a pen too, which is handy, as sometimes benetint can get a bit messy with that tiny bottle and a brush. it's also very cheap. it's a new line thats just come out in england.

guys, has any one tried the lancome lip potion marker? how is it? do u have any idea if its LE?

they are called YSL lip markers.... they look like pens and have a brush applicator, I use the pink one

I had one of those lips stain pens from sephora (it was discontinued) and i loved it!

It was beautiful and it really lasted, not quite like some stains. I also applied gloss on top and it looked like a glazed cherry!

I find Benetint to be too sheer, even on the cheeks, i have a gel like stain from clinique which has a lot of pigment and it settles for a long time.

The Revlon lipstains look really neat...... It's not supposed to give lips a lipstick look like on Heather Marks right.....!?
