Best Sunscreen

We get the Nivea SPF 50 here, I might try that, thanks!

Yeah, you should! After writing that I thought, well actually, it's just as good as the other two I use. Maybe not as moisturizing (but it doesn't dry me out either, which is important) and less silicone-y, but some people would prefer that. :flower: There are many Nivea sunscreens, the one I recommend is the Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel Super, in SPF 50 PA+++...I've only seen it in Japan so far, but it's this one below:

I ended up buying the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid.

I've been using it for a few weeks now and I have mixed feelings about it. It didn't break me out, it's very light (the consistency is very runny, almost liquid-like and it needs to be shaken up before applying), sinks into my skin quickly (great make-up base), it doesn't leave a white cast but it does irritate my eyes. I like that it's fragrance free, but it contains alcohol (it doesn't dry out my skin though). I also love the dispenser, very user friendly. :D

^ I bought that brand, probably before they came out with the ultralight formulation (it wasn't that), and the heavy feel on my skin made me want to scream. I could not use it.

I use Origins A Perfect World SPF25 moisturizer. Feels great, smells great ... I have a hard time finding a high SPF that feels good on the skin.

^that's funny. back when i used to work for Origins customer's thought the fragrance of A Perfect World was either 'heaven scent' or akin to cat urine. admittedly on some testers it did smell kinda like a street cat but only after someone pointed it out to me and in very close proximity :P . i didn't mind it myself.

i've been using this on both my hands and face. the spot correcting is a misnomer but whatevs; i've had dark spots on my face ever since i was a child. since it's marketing angle is use for the hands you do get more bang for your buck over their normal face cream too! 2.5 fl oz for $30. it also comes in 1oz side for $15.

this is light enough to use on the face as it absorbs quickly and is a nice base for powder. i'm not fanatical about washing my face given i often go sans make-up during the week.

i put this on my face and two days later my skin still looks amazing as if it were just freshly scrubbed  i apply this at night and i wake up looking dewy (not greasy) and refreshed. i love this stuff!

I've been searching for a good sunscreen for years, since I started having allergic reactions to sunscreen on my face. I'm thinking about trying one from Shiseido next since I've heard a lot of great things about their sunscreens - either the Urban Environment UV Protective Cream or the Expert Sun Aging Protection Cream.

I'm also curious if any of you have tried Shiseido's Sun Liquid Foundation? I've been looking for a new foundation for summer and this looks really good. Unfortunately it's not available in stores here and the color selection confuses me so I'm a little hesitant to order it online...

Caramel I use the Urban Environment, it's fantastic.
I've also been using their foundations for a long time, not familiar with that particular one, but their foundations are great in general.

^ Yes, I saw earlier in the thread! What is your skin type? :flower:

I think I've finally found a sunscreen that works for me! :woot:

I tried Shiseido's Urban Environment, I liked the consistency and how it felt on my skin, but unfortunately it broke me out something terrible. (I also tried the Sun Liquid Foundation and it was way too dry on my skin).

This summer I've been using Bare Minerals Natural Sunscreen Powder, and so far it's working wonderfully. No breakouts or irritation, and it's also a bit mattifying which is great for reapplying during the day. I've been a little concerned about not getting enough protection since it's a powder, but I've even used it on days at the beach with no problems. Fingers crossed that this could be my HG sunscreen!

Clarins HP UV Plus sunscreen is the best I've tried, I HIGHLY recommend it. Feels like there's nothing on your skin, no greasy feeling.

Thanks for the rec! It sounds similar to the Lancome UV Expert one I've loved for many years, I wonder how they compare. Looking forward to checking it out, though I have a few bottles of sunscreen still I have to use up.

I believe in SPF 30. Dermaxsol is a sunscreen and moisturizer with SPF 30. It is suitable for all types of skin and keeps you protected from harmful sun rays all day through. It also get quickly absorbed in the skin. I recommend this clinically proven product.

Do you exfoliate everyday?
I lather on sunscreen and don't plan on changing that but I feel like it's blocking my pores when combined with my daily moisturisers.

I don't wear makeup by the way.

Clinique SCB SPF 40.
Dr. Sebagh Sun City Protection SPF 30.

I use SPF 50 daily, and have no problems. Use a good gentle but thorough cleanser (I use the Bioderma) and yes, exfoliate--I do at least every other day, but whenever you feel you need it.

I loved the Neutrogena sunscreens
It is light and sinks quickly into the skin, does not leave a white cast, does not irritate or dry out my skin actually it moisturizes and the scent is quite pleasant.
