Aveda™ is joining forces with top celebrities and eco-chic designer Project Alabama to celebrate fashion, fame and the Earth—in style. Handbags for the Earth is a celebrity fundraiser for the environment in partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council.

100% of profits go to the NRDC, an environmental action group dedicated to safeguarding the Earths animals and natural resources.

Wow I kind of like the leeann Rimes one actually.

I have a few friends who work for Aveda, and they've also been doing alot of fashion shows lately to raise money etc.

love the idea, eco seems totally hot for the right reason too..
thanks for bringing this in aipume ;)

Surprisingly, the bags are quite good! I like Alba's.

With petrol and oil & pollution being a big ecological issue in the US this definitely comes at the right time. Nice to see some celebs lending their fame to a worthy cause rather than another celeb induced, overly manufactured(read:ecologically unhealthy)clothing line. And the bags are all organic?

hi there :) yep all the bags are fully organic AND made from recycled material. hand stitching detailing which is apparent if you see the bag in person.

eco fashion has come a long way but it still has a long way to go. we dont have to work for Green Peace or the NRDC, but a small change in our lifestyle is an incremental success in itself!

the bags are up on ebay now! www.ebay.com/aveda . all proceeds go to the NRDC automatically via missionfish. thanks to these celebrities (who actually designed and sent back the bags), Earth is making its bid for sustainability.
