Blake Lively (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

I don't think she understands how to dress for certain events. I remember her wearing Converse, a studded skirt and a white v-neck T-shirt to a MET gala after-party and now at WonderCon she's wearing all these frilly short dresses. You can't dress the same way for a star-studded movie premiere in Hollywood as you do for a comic convention. The two events are so different and so your outfits should reflect that.

exactly what I've been saying! totally agree

I don't think she understands how to dress for certain events...
Unless she dresses with the sole intent of "standing out" in the crowd.

I think it's all very strategic ... and all about maximizing attention & buzz.

I wonder, though, if the WonderCon outfit was particularly put together to lure a certain person ... ? :innocent:

I think she tries to hard to live up to her "fashionista" image.
She does look good most of the time, but you can always tell that she's trying.

With others like Diane Kruger or Zoe Saldana, it's more effortless.

@shoesexy: I wouldn't be surprised if that rumor did start since their movie (The Green Latern) is coming out soon and there isn't any interest in it. ;)

I don't think its fair to compare Blake to Diane and Zoe, nor vice versa. All three have different body types and styles, plus Diane and Zoe have stylist.

she looks awesome with that strapless black dress (any ID?) and that hair!:woot:

Gorgeous. She looks old Hollywood in that dress, Veronica Lake comes to mind.

She looks so beautiful, love her hair! Out of every thing, I wish she would switch up up her hairstyle more often. It's always either in her "Blake" style or a messy up do. But I do appreciate that she does throw in something different every blue moon - I just wish it was more often; especially at award shows.

That last look is perfect for her, I love the hair too. Its the first time in awhile that her hair dooesn't make me cringe but instead amaze me.

plus Diane and Zoe have stylist.
Diane does not have a stylist. Her style is consistently hers plus there is no way, if she were to have a stylist, would they stylist remain mum after all her years in France and Hollywood.

The same cannot be said for Lively who most definitely has a stylist, particularly Eric Daman's influence and his ostentatious remarks comparing her to Jackie O among other things. This notion of her dressing herself is ridiculous and is a result of a desperate strategy to elevate her image which is unnecessary for an otherwise lovely girl.

Yeah, I have never bought the idea that Blake doesn't have a stylist, or that she completely independently dresses herself. I think Blake is gorgeous and I like a lot of her RC looks, but I can't take her seriously as a fashionista or 'style icon' yet and it's because she's trying too hard to make the world believe she doesn't have a stylist even though it's obvious she collaborates with Eric Daman. It would be better if she just came clean about ED's influence and gave up the "I don't need a stylist" act, it seems dishonest.

I'm not getting into a debate on who does/doesn't have a stylist. Bottom line, some like Blake's style and some will find fault with everything she wears/does. I don't know her personally, but she always seems happy and at ease with herself, and at the end of the day opinions on the anonymous net doesn't matter.

^ Shoe #1 is from Topshop as far as I know. I don't know whether you can still get them though but they & H&M should still have similar styles still around.
