Chic models and socialites such as Rachel Feinstein (with fur sleeves below), Stella Tenant and Anne Bass have been seen wearing blazers over their gowns (esp. during the Met's "Goddess" Costume Institue Gala). Stella wore a Yohji over her Vera Wang and Anne Bass was in a simple detailed Dior Couture. Personally it looks much chicer esp. Stella. When she wore it over her Vera it looked more sophisticated (also Anne B.) with a slight edge.

    Opinions?

from blazers down to leather biker jackets

modern eveningwear needs some fun, an unexpected touch to make it 'modern' and light. I always 'play down' out-wear, its fun and pose-less, makes me feel balanced and 'casual' about eveningwear :flower:

ps. i dont like the look on the picture posted here though :ninja:

I don't know...it seems that you're pairing something heavy over something light, and it just doesn't look right to me. It's also mixing elegant with business...personally, I don't like to mix the two. A lightweight blazer wouldn't be too aweful, though.

The trend sounds interesting. That outfit in the photo is awful, though, IMO.

Don't like the example picture, but I usually like this type of thing. To me it means more chances to wear the big dress and less chances of looking ott :woot:

I don't know if anyone watched, but she was wearing a low cut blazer, or a "bolero" on top of this Oscar de la Renta beauty

I love it (igni, the example posted is scary   )!

I like it when it's a light and simple blazer (preferably black). It needs to be simple though or it's going to look overboard.
