their clothes focus on having multiple outlets of functionality and are highly conceptual, by way of finding new ways to utilize conventional things, and so the items are really multi-dimensional... so imo it's always hard to really experience what Bless is about from any kind of presentation or runway. it's all sort of hidden from the exterior usually
I find many of the products are tongue and cheek, slightly odd renditions of super normal attire and often not very practical.
They do have their followers though, a bit like a cult really.
What is with people trying to do different presentations this year?
Halston and Armani both had their models sit down to present their clothes..
People just want to see what they've done. Spice up the runway in whatever way you want, but having to push past a load of miserable-looking people on a staircase is hardly a great and innovative way to present your collection.
I always *love* Bless - they've got the most unfashionable but comfortable clothes that can be worn over and over.... to death. Yet these aren't the numbingly basic stuff like Gap. They also make it a point to use *real* people, not models, to show their clothes, very democratic.
It's sort of renegade in how extremely unglamorous it is. It's definitely a "meta" thing, something not all that removed from what MMM would do back in the day.
