No you're defintiely not the only one to get blisters! I get some really bad ones sometimes with new sheos but after breaking into them, they are fine.
I also think it could be done to bad manufacturing and really cheap ones can be painful.

I dont have keds, but if you can pull it off I dont see why you cant wear them with socks.:flower:

Good to know I'm not the only one! Thanks for the advice; I think I WILL try socks. ^_^

You might also like to try sticking plasters on the affected areas first before wearing them first.

And not to worry..I get blisters with my new shoes everytime, despite how much/little they cost me. I think I am one unlucky gal who always has to break her shoes in and it may be due to my flat, broad feet. (Yikes, I sound like a duck!)

^ I can understand. I have the same type of feet, they look bad in flats..but I wont stop wearing them though :P

I get that problem when I go ice-skating...

For me, the problem is usually solved by wearing thick socks. For flip-flops, a little bit of gauze tape can do wonders.

I'm bookmarking this thread!

I get blisters ALL the time even with shoes that I've worn in =/ Usually if I wear a shoe that I know will give me blisters, I'll put on a bandaid. But I hate the look of that so I need some ideas.

But ouch, blisters on the heel of your feet sound painful =<

keds shoes

most of keds shoes give me blisters, and it sucks 'coz they are pretty nice but not really comfortable.

I always get blisters... I put bandaids on before wearing the shoes to avoid blisters, the shoes usually cover the bandaids completly so it doesn't look takcy.

If you're gonna wear those ked things, why not just wear those Peds no show socks...

during the summer I LIVE by these.. but only wear them if they are invisible to everyone else... only YOU know they're in there.. ya know? Nothing worse than seeing a woman walking down the street wearing pumps with her white peds SHOWING... eek!

Here... even CK does 'em..http://www.hosieryplus.com/index.html?loadfile=info.html

I just go to target and pick up a few pairs of Peds.. they even have these like, half sock things(and thong socks... ?? ) that I've never tried, but might even be useful in this situation... you just need to put something between your foot and the shoe until you break them in.

I do this too . Although, I really only get blisters when the shoes are new, like most people do or when it's hot .

Sometimes when I start out wearing bandaids, I get blisters quicker... I always keep bandaids in my bag.

Same here!

People in our school were birkenstocks with socks... But the peds are a good idea as long as they cant be seen.

that is KEY... NECESSARY... NEEDED... TASTELESS IF SEEN!! I cannot come up with enough words to express it.

But sometimes, I'd cut my peds a little so that they definitely had no chance of being seen.. but still kept my feet from getting boo-boos.

Try "New Skin" or "Second Skin" (forgot which it's called). Anyway, it's basically a substance you paint onto the blister that hardens and forms a protective layer. It's great!

Yup, I definitely get bad blisters. I had a pair of doc martens ages ago that gave me blisters for 4 months! Once they were broken in, it was fine. But I definitely keep bandaids, and especially the 3M waterproof kind because they are kind of spongy. Makes it much more bearable. What we do for fashion, huh?

not to be a wet blanket, but i will do anything for style except walk in heels or anything slightly uncomfortable....unless i'm just taking a car to dinner where it's no more than 50 steps...it is super bad for your knees, feet, and back. (yes, even wide shoes-- they're only better for your feet, not the rest of you.) i read somewhere a long time ago that each inch on a heel effectively exerts an extra 40 pounds on your feet and knees.

Wow! Thanks for the great advice guys! :D

I've tried band-aids many times before, but they usually get bunched up because of all that friction rubbing against them. It does help though, and I always have a couple in my purse when I wear Keds! The Peds no-show socks idea sounds good. You were all a big help!

Am I the only one who seems to get blisters from shoes?? I have three pairs of Keds flats that I absolutely adore, but I can't seem to wear them without blistering my heels and the tops of some of my toes. What can I do to prevent this? Should I try socks? Are socks even usually worn with Keds??

My green Keds Floral Flats:

For me it is usually the type of shoe, I can't wear mules, no matter what type I buy I get blisters..I hate them they hurt sooo much and there are alot of cute mules I would love to buy...I prob wouldn't wear socks with the keds though...there are gel type bandaids that work good and don't show..you could try them

I know there is a product out there meant to prevent blisters. I think we got a sample of them in the mail a long time ago; basicly it looks like a band-aid but you put it on before you get the blister (that is if you know where you're gonna get it) and it somehow protects you. I think I will buy some of those to go with my new Ked's flats I plan on buying tomorrow :D I can't resist flats even if I have to wear band-aids!!!!
