Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2014

Thanks Marc10 for posting.

This is so tight.

From beginning to end there's not even a slight stumble: No filler, all killer. So confident. The precision of lady-like dressing with a mean streak of decadence in those leather inlays and fraying sequins and fraying signature basketweave leathers really builds upon the label's legacy.

Those sleek leather trenches and basketweave greatcoats are beyond luxurious, they deserve to be coveted. And unlike some Italian labels, they're so sophisticated and masterful with that proper,1960s silhouette for the times they never veer into costumey, or retro wear. Even the florals have a certain strength, a certain darkness that's never genteel-- even if they may be playing with that image.

Could do without those lemon-meringue colors though.

It's very strong, elaborate and coherent for a pre-collection. I've personally never been a fan of Maier's aestehtic per se, but I find myself being interested in many of the looks here just because they are so well-done and, as Phuel noted, comes across as very confident. Love how the models present this, too. I like all the coats and those last three gowns (that bronze lamé stuff actually looks nice here! Everyone else totally failed with that). Some pretty chic bags, too. Yeah, this is really good.

This is beautiful collection with strong pattern , shape and colors combination.
