Braces...trendy??

I want to ask the person that has experiences in braces.
My mom, dad, and even my dentist has recommend me to wear braces but I don't want cuz I thought its gonna be really pain.my dentist told me that my jaw is too small for my teeth,so they are overcrowded!here is the quest...
Is it really pain having braces?

Depends on the person. For some they say its always painful, but I have a feeling they are just whining. I have braces at the moment, the only time it really hurt was the first few days after getting them on. They will hurt, and it will be hard to eat. But after that it will be fine...The only other time it may be sore is after you get them tightened, which is about every 8 weeks, but that soreness only lasts a day.

Hello..

Atm i have braces and i barely notice them. In a couple of months there is a great amount of difference in my teeth. i:heart:them. First week was very painful...i have to admit.
I like my braces..and dnt mind them at all. I like looking a lil different...^_^:flower:

Braces are horrendous I think, but every kid has to go through it! I did....and the results are completely worth it! I dont like the look though for models, its WAY too distracting!

Hi all, while browsing this forum i noticed that having braces is quite common among models. This came as a bit of a surprise to me, as i thought that models had to be beyond perfection. But what suprised me even more is that most of the braced models chose the traditional metal kind, instead of something less noticeable which might be available these days.
So, are braces becoming a sort of trend?? How many of you modelling have them?? Do they by any chance interfere with you work in the fashion biz??

ciao from milan!!
Well I guess they do it because in the long run, it will make your teeth look AMAZING. I can vouch for that, as I have braces, and it's amazing how quickly you start to see results. as for the metal ones instead of something invisible I can answer that. I was offered the option of clear braces, but got the metal ones because with clear, you still have a metal wire going across your teeth, so that looks weird, and they eventually start to discolour so they look weird. and they told me that they are more expensive, but more likely to brake and are weaker- that did it for me. why pay more for something sub-standard?
