Burberry 'Festival' 2025 by Drew Vickers

seems festivals now are where vloggers go to show off their ootds totally different from how they were in the past. oh well
Oh! So I guess, wearing a sequined Burberry dress to a festival is not so out of context as I though it was then! Ahaha

I don’t even think Daniel Lee has anything more left to do with it.
We literally went from gardens, landscape, people on boats to festival. Maybe the approach for the marketing team to connect with the Gen-Z.
Is festival still Hot btw? Even more, festival fashion?
Glastonbury is pretty much a Coachella version for Brit people now so Burberry crews know what they are doing.

Since Daniel Lee got involved with the brand, I noticed that they have shifted to the edgier, niche scene and it happened the same with his stay at Bottega Veneta. If it’s not a coincidence, other brands will follow the trend.

I don’t think they understand that being British is just not hot or aspirational like it was in the mid 00’s-early 10’s. Back then you had a cultural moment with Amy Winehouse, Kate Moss paparazzi era, Lily Allen, Skins, Harry Potter movies, etc that even Chanel and DH bought into. Cara Delevigne and Alexa Chung were the last two to make being British a trend and even then that audience was less fashionable.

In 2025 who even wants to go to Britain? You can’t even get VAT refunds there anymore. Everyone who would want to go to London would rather go to Paris or Berlin now. Daniel Lee at least gets what being British is about today in his creative direction, it’s just no one really cares about it right now.
100%, which is why they should've looked at smaller UK brands like Margaret Howell and Tender for inspiration. There isn't a cultural wave to ride right now, so they need to look into focalizing top-tier English wools & textiles. We need an anti-trend Burberry built on perfectly cut tweeds & Shetland wool—not momentary hype.

I actually thought the pictures were pretty good. So much so I went on the website to have a look and was shocked! Thought I might get a cute lil bag and they were horrific! So purchases were made!
