The Burberry craze has finally hit LA...(I don't know, I saw people back east wearing stuff wayyyy back then)...but I am slowly starting to see more and more people here wear it...I see tons of people w/ the scarves especially.

Who has fallen into the craze? hehe i guess i have.

Nova Plaid is yawn...where I live they're called 'charvas' or 'townies' rather than pikeys though...

Burberry has been around 4eva as some of you mentioned. I disagree with Beki - yes it is old fogeish to an extent,(just like Aquascutum) but i have a blue scarf and floppy hat which i have had for 3 years and i do wear it out. I would say as a young person, you can make Burberry look trendy, it just depends on what you wear it with.

Burberry used to be one of my favourites, when they started to become trendy but now i dont think id carry a burberry or Louis Vuitton bag (not unless its really unusual for the simple reason that they are "COMMON AS MUCK", and are the most copied bags around. Living in London - just take a walk down the WestEnd and all you will see is LV and Burberry handbags. I have seen a few LV bags that i would probably consider buying because the style is different other than that i would not bother.

leyla you are not the only one who has fallen victim to the burberry trend. it truly infiltrated every facet of society (at least where i've traveled)...i've seen everything from the most posh of women wearing the ponchos to the most urban of kids wearing skull caps and plaid overalls. i bought loads of burberry...and still wear some although i would never wear my muffler these days, i still strain to think of anyone who can do a "mac" like burberry.

I used to be obsessed with Burberry too, but now I'm over it. Iagree with midnight golightly: I've seen a lot more people in la with burberry scarves. There's a picture of Reese witherspoon in People this week wearing a pink burberry scarf (she in la in the pic)

It's an epidemic here in DC too...scarves, bags and those plain black coats (not trenches) and I think right before I left Nor Cal, it was starting to grow there as well, especially since they just opened a boutique in San Jose (S of SF)

I guess I got sucked in too..right before I left, I got a trench, a short motorcyleish jacket, a scarf and an umbrella. :innocent:

the Burberry plaid is always out there.
I wouldn't say it's ugly, but not crazy about it since it's way too common.
and I wouldn't say it's a new trend or something.

IVe never been crazy for burberry... even if it is very trendy. I don't know about all of the burberry line, but i esp dislike all of the plaid.

I think we should remember that Thomas Burberry invented the trenchcoat and that horrible Nova Plaid wasn't used until he'd retired. I think that Thomas Burberry himself deserves some credit considering all the designers who've copied the trench off him.
